Series Thread: WC semifinals: #6 Golden State Warriors vs #7 Los Angeles Lakers

I absolutely 100% agree why some people would take the Warriors in this round.

They're the defending champs. And have the best shooter in NBA history.

If I were a neutral fan or maybe even someone who hasn't followed the Lakers much since Feb, I would probably be inclined to say Warriors in 6 or 7 myself.

To be a legit title threat?

I need to see them control this series. Own the paint against the Warriors and do a good job defending the 3 point line, which is something they haven’t consistently done. At least not from what I have seen.

I think at the very best the Lakers could make the Finals. But i've said it for months now, the winner of the NBA Championship is going to come from the East this year.

And I think if all Lakers fans are truly honest, the WCF is probably the ceiling for them this year.

Defense isn't an issue for this Lakers team. Stupid turnovers are. And bad shot selection.

But what pissed me off the most is giving up a huge run by the other team in the space of just a couple of minutes.

Heck, before the playoffs started, I figured they could get to the WCF, but figured a 2nd round exit would be the most likely outcome.

They don't have enough time together to overcome not having HCA in any series.

They're solid against the 3 when they're locked in defensively. But when a team makes a run on them, it's usually the 3 ball that gets them.

I didn't say they wouldn't win any series because they don't have HCA...

I said that I think the best they can do is WCF because they don't have HCA in any series.

I think the only way they can have HCA in a series would be a bubble rematch with the Heat in the finals.
