Cap room and the #2 pick is a very valuable pick in this draft itself. Lot easier to build a team with a top 5-8 QB even without all the draft assets.I still don’t see how the Jets are a big upgrade for him if they are forced to hand all their draft capital to the Texans, which is pretty much a lock
Sure, but it's not even the same as Miami's #3 pick from Houston, imo. Jets have Darnold to trade to another team (or Houston, lol) plus the draft picks from the Jamal Adams trade. Jets certainly COULD do it and not cut their head off in the process. Texans could get Justin Fields/Wilson with no strings attached.I have no idea why the Texans would say yes to this if they weren't getting the #2 pick out of it

They should go for Watson. Do they get him? I doubt it. Guaranteed top 5-8 QB >>>>> Maybe a good QBSo you think the Jets should go all in on Watson? Or draft Zach Wilson/Fields/keep Darnald and build with all the draft assets and Cap Room they have built?
I still don't see Watson getting traded.
Realistically, i'd imagine Darnold is probably still worth probably about a 3rd rounder to someone because of his age so I can kinda see this working out. Its still a massive loss for the Texans, though, if all they get is Fields or Wilson on a rebuilding team. Darnald and the Colts sounds intriguing to meRealistically, i'd imagine Darnold is probably still worth probably about a 3rd rounder to someone because of his age so I can kinda see this working out. Not even sure I'd do this if I'm the Jets. You have an empowered QB evaluating head coaches on twitter and you have to deal with the NY media? NFL Head coaches have almost no job security. That sounds like a nightmare that is only solved with playoff wins. Good friggin luck.
If the Jets are willing to trade both their 2021 first round picks and both 2022 first round picks, Houston should at least give it some consideration.
Maybe I haven't fully considered how much the Texans would actually get out of this. Watson is not worth 4 1st round picks. Jets would be foolish to offer that.If the Jets are willing to trade both their 2021 first round picks and both 2022 first round picks, Houston should at least give it some consideration.

How about 3 first and a second? Maybe throw a decent player into the deal.Maybe I haven't fully considered how much the Texans would actually get out of this. Watson is not worth 4 1st round picks. Jets would be foolish to offer that.
I do think at some point you would have to throw in a player. In a weird way the #2 pick might be worth as much as the other three combined. How about 3 first and a second? Maybe throw a decent player into the deal.
