Manning had a pocket that kept collapsing. That keeps you from being able to see things.

Bingo.

There were open receivers, manning completed a ton of balls. Didn't D Thomas catch a record amount of passes? Thing about Seattle is they take away outside and deep and make you throw underneath and then the knock the crud out of whoever catchs it.

Certainly on some plays, the pocket was collapsing. But it was hardly every play. Yes Thomas caught a lot of short passes. But on almost (not all but almost) every play, Manning had deeper options open. That's mostly impossible to tell on the network telecast, you need to watch the All-22.

Manning was clearly flustered. No doubt the Seattle's D play was a big part of that, no kidding, but there's a lot more to it than that. I think the safety just really rattled that team, and Manning. They were simply never confident, and for some reason Manning stopped going through his reads and just started taking the short over the middle options.
