He didn't just interview people starting 4 days ago and give the candidates 3 days to tell him who their assistants would be and then make a decision that quick.

They've been in talks for a while now. This was determined long ago. As soon as Bo shit the bed against Wisconsin, the plan was put into full motion.

The loss to Minnesota put the cherry on top and it was a done deal.

You don't just hire a 61 year old guy out of the blue and say, "Here you go, folks!! I don't know if he'll be around for more than a few years, but he's gonna be pretty fuckin good I bet!!!"

I can agree that Eichorst made up his mind to let Bo go after the Wisconsin loss, but not after Iowa last season as JJM was saying.

I believe he came to the Riley decision recently. Within the last 2 weeks or so.

In my opinion, Riley was a last resort hire. That's not to say Eichorst, Steve Pederson's cousin, didn't hire him a few weeks ago.

He already had a plan he was drawing up last year. It just is a fact.

Otherwise he wouldn't be able to make such a move after a 9-3 season with a GREAT comeback win on the road at Iowa.
