A good throw, a good read, and he's open. Before the safety can even make it over there. I'm not saying at the point of the deflection he was open. AJ hung that ball up there way too long, and put it way too high. It was a terrible pass.

A shorter completion is not an "underthrow" which is what the complaints were about, though. You wanted a shorter completion...not a longer one. A longer one wasn't possible. Therefor, an underthrow complaint is the wrong complaint.

A better read, and a better throw gets the ball there BEFORE the safety comes over. Long ball/deep passes are not just about accuracy, but about being able to see the WR getting open before he's open, and about getting the ball out early.

AJ did neither of those.
