Andrew Browns top 5 are VT,UVA,Clemson,UNC,Florida

Based on his offer list, I'd expect that. Sounds like we're in a pretty good position with him -- but he hasn't been offered by Bama, LSU, Michigan, tOSU, USC-E, and Georgia yet .. I'd expect him to be offered by most (if not all) of those teams.

Regardless, I'd expect us to be in it to the end.

Brown sure does talk about UNC a lot. Somebody needs to let him know their football program should not be confused with their basketball program.

I think right now we lead for brown and hands.

I can agree with this. But its wayyyyyy early. We also led for Curtis Grant and Landon Hughes really early.

Wow, is that a smartass wHoo? I didn't know they made those...

You're right, it's "Hand". Ironically, his self-proclaimed biggest weakness is his "hands".

I can totally relate with Jeffro. Every time someone calls him Jarrett "Boykins" I want to kill someone

Personally, I like making every name plural or possessive whenever possible. Danny Coales, Boykins, Leals, Colemans, the list goes on, they all sound better

Only if you say it like a 1920s prohibition gangster. "Nyah, see? Take Boykins out with Leals and Colemans to visit this Coales fella, see? Nyah."

I don't know of any other top 25 team that has as little competition in its own state on the field as VT, yet struggles as much as VT does getting in state talent. VT should be able to pick and choose who they want especially since the only other decent team in the state has trouble getting bowl eligible. The fact that we're going to do relatively poorly in VA in 2013 and possibly next year tells me that VT is not doing what is necessary to get to the next level

more doom and gloom from foozball I see .. other than Levenberry (big surprise), who (so far) have we offered in VA that has gone elsewhere for '13?? Tim Harris << who gives a shit?? We got our top TWO QB prospects, loading up on D, got the two BEST OL in the state, still very much in the running/lead for the #1 CB prospect in the country ... not to mention still in it for Derrick Green, Hamilton, Teller ???

and possibly next year? are you kidding me??

scout and TSL boards are ....... that way >>>>>>>>>>>>

and FWIW -- if we lost most of those "great" prospects to the other in-state school, then you might have a little point ... but we don't ...

some schools, for many reasons, will get theirs, even in the state of virginia ... just like some kids who live in michigan go to live in ohio state and some kids living in ohio go elsewhere

and if you want a list of schools with less competition than VT:
Arkansas
LSU
Notre Dame << and don't even come with Purdue
Ohio State << sure, there is Cincinnati but there is only ONE team in that state than ANYONE gives a shit about

and I'm sure I could come up with more

Your definition of "poor" is alot different than mine. Look at Georgia, where UGA should dominate the state in recruiting, especially with GT running a less traditional offense. Yet, they landed (according to Rivals) less top 20 prospects in GA compared to VT in VA:

2012: 4 of the top 20 (UGA)/11 of top 20 (VT)
2011: 10 of the top 20 /3 of the top 20 (VT)
2010: 5 of the top 20/8 of the top 20 (VT)
2009: 6 of the top 20/7 of the top 20 (VT)
2008: 11 of the top 20/8 of the top 20 (VT)

This year we already have 4 of the top 20 with good chances with Allen, Green, Teller, Reid, Hamilton and Rolin (247sports). This was going to be a tough year, but it's turning out much better than 2011 and could be a great year considering we have ourselves with one of our better OOS classes despite small size. And we have set ourselves up very well for 2014. That could be a very special class.
