Something that i cant remember hearing from him or anyone else, is his preference for a specific defense? 3-4 4-3 4-4? would he rather be an interior lineman at the college level or out on the ends?

Bama plays a 3-4 defense They have 14 DLs on their roster having lost 2 to graduation. They have 3, possibly 4 or 5, additional DLs who will sign tomorrow. These guys are all 6'3"-6'4", 270-300 pounds, and basically interchangeable between NT and DE. JMHO, but I'd be surprised if Kirven gets much playing time at Bama for a couple of years.

And to be completely honest, he will most likely have to wait his turn at Tech, too.

I have doubts about him doing much of anything at Bama. The competition there is far greater than at VT and he is not well suited for the 3-4.

I've had to bite my time forever because it looked like he'd be a Hokie but I saw this kid play a lot and so did others I know who coach the game(HS and FBS college) and he has major motivation questions. The athleticism is top notch and if he wants to succeed he will but he's pretty much the anti-Corey Marshall at this stage. Maybe he changes, who knows.

e: to not be confused with sour grapes, I would take his LOI in a New York minute.
