QB is officially the #1 priority for the 2013 class. Hope we can make a splash.

Really hope we can land Bucky Hodges
I think we all do. Especially since it doesnt look like VT is going after Christian Hackenberg or Ryan Burns
This bothers me. The coaches can't afford to screw themselves by missing out on a top notch QB for the 3rd year in row. We need to offer all the solid QB's out there who fit our system (still trying to figure out what our system is though).

Twitter tells me that we just got kicker Brooks Abbott. Very good kicker, All-American.
Exactly, But not sure why you are so bothered Ho Hum. From all accounts I have heard neither of these guys really fit our system and they they are pro style QB's. Although LT is a bigger, more traditional, pro style pocket passer. He has legs, and is still what I consider a dual threat QB. Until we can get a more traditional pro style OLine, I will take the guys that can move every time. Thomas could be around for 2 more years (including this one) and believe Leal has another year after Thomas (if needed). He would be very serviceable there. Have faith, we will get a top notch QB this year or maybe even have to wait until next. Hopefully it is Hodges, but if not some other 4 star guy will be the man. Someone will want to follow in the footsteps of Vick, Randall, Tyrod, and Thomas. No disrespect to the great RB's and QB's that we have had in the past, but neither of those positions have really been huge problems for VT in the last 15years.
I dont really agree with offering everyone who fits our system. If Bucky is the only one getting love, it shows we want HIM..and only him. That he is our guy. If he cools off alot by summer, we look elsewhere.
and sean glennon :hdn:
and sean glennon :hdn:
HaHa..As you can see I purposely left him out. Glennon had a few good moments and I think he could have been successful. He just wasn't the kind of QB for VT football. Don't know if Hackenberg or Burns is quite as stiff as Glennon, but probably cut from a similar mold. Not saying they couldnt be successful at VT, but our offensive philosophy would have to change and OLine play would have to be much more consistent.
