Chargers were moving ball at will, than started turning ball over, mostly with their own stupidity over great plays
I thought that was our deal?

So far, he's doing about exactly what I would expect out of him this game. We're in a road game against an underrated losing team. Not that the Chargers are amazing or anything, but they're better than their 5-8 record would indicate. He hasn't been lighting them up but he's been pretty efficient for the most part. He's not playing in a way that would lose us the game on his own.

I blame the coaching a lot more than Kirk or any other players. They're just lucky that Bailey pulled his head out of his backside and nailed 4/4 of the FG attempts they gave him plus the other two PAT attempts after missing that first one. The coaching is insanely conservative on offense, and it makes no sense.

Time and time again, Kirk and the gang have performed better 90% of the time when they unleash the offense, yet Zimmer and co. continue this bs where they only do that when the games look all but lost already anyway. Like the Seattle game, which we could have definitely won had they not kept the offense on such a tight leash for the first 3 quarters.

Yeah I wasnt really blaming Kirk there although the throw was dumb. Its our pussy play calling that is annoying.

I am a ok with going to the playoffs with Kirk

Can't see the game but the score looks pretty good for a road game.

Not impressed?

We gave up like the first 7 3rd and longs the Chargers faced because our secondary cant guard anyone, and we kept settling for FGs with really safe offense.

Luckily the Charger had 7 TOs basically of their own doing and a blocked punt.

Offense was fine for what it was asked to do. THe frustrating part is we dont unleash them.

I think I'm mostly just relieved to have our team finally fielding a guy who looks like he *could* lead a strong team other than lucky years (Case Keenum, flashes of Sam Bradford looking like he was actually worth of his 1st overall draft status with the Rams all those moons ago) or bringing in old farts on their last legs (Favre, etc.).

I've said it before, but the biggest indicator for me that Cousins can be fine on big stages like the playoffs is the game we had against the Rams last year. He threw for 422 yard and 3 TD's with 0 interceptions that game losing 38-31. That's pretty good against a Superbowl appearing team on the road on primetime when they had a pretty legit defense. Our defense just crapped the bed harder than theirs did. As long as the D doesn't competely suck, he can win us big games.

Surprised by todays win. Don't remember winning an outdoors road game by this much in a long time. 7 turnovers, will give the D credit but the holes are still there. Already more wins than I predicted so...SKOL

A sluggish, but great win on the road to take us to 10-4. Regardless of how the rest of the year plays out, I can't complain too much. I had them at 8-8, not assuming Thielen would miss close to half the season.

Green Bay seriously reminds me of us back in 2017. They're 11-3 right now, but as the season has progressed, they strike me as closer to a strong 8-6 team.

Their best hope is that they win the division regardless of what we do from here on out due to the Lions being their final game, then lucking their way into a home NFC title game against a wildcard Seatle or 49'ers. They will be slaughtered if they have to face either of those teams on the road. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't pick the Vikes to beat them on the road either. But I would give us a slight 1/10 shot at it. Worse odds for the Fudgepackers, IMO.

Probably didn't hurt that there were as many Viking fans in the stands as L.A. Chargers fans. They were complete and utter morons to ever move from San Diego. Their move to L.A., especially after the Rams pulled it first, cemented their legacy as a joke franchise.

If us and the 49ers end up tied wouldn't we get the 5 seed?

If we win out and San Fran drops 1 more of the remaining games to put us both at 12-4, you are correct. We would hold the tie breaker in that scenarior due to win percentage in common games played. Atlanta beating them today was huge for us since we beat the birds back in week 1 and Seattle downed the 49'ers once.

Even if they beat Seattle but lose to the Rams, I think the sead goes to us based on the Atlanta games. If them beating Seattle to tie us at 12-4 cancelled their first Seattle loss out, then we're screwed based on stength of victory tie-breaker. They've blown out more teams than us for sure.

I'm done hoping for the division title. The Packers have the 3rd seed secured regardless of what we do unless Detroilet grows a set of balls and spoils them while we simutaniously win out. Incredibly unlikely scenario for that to all happen. Might as well start rooting for us to win out and Seattle take care of business to wrap up the West in week 17 so we maybe ge5 the 5th seed.

I think strength of victory is the winning % of your victories, in that case they beat us.

Point differential could get closer. But I don't think thats it.

Honestly, I'm just annoyed at the prospect of them going straight to Green Bay for yet another playoff game in Lambeau. I don't see this team winning in that environment in January. If it comes to that, they need to send the offense out going immediately aggressive with Thielen/Diggs/Rudolph/Diggs/etc. or they'd just be mailing it in. That aggressive approach might not work, but I have zero faith in the idea of this team winning an outdoor January game against a division rival while playing soft like they do 75% of the time.

How are the Vikes 4.5 point favorites against the Pack in a prime time game? Vegas must need more bets on the Vikes.

Because we've won like 4 of the last 6 er something, plus it's at home (3 points right there).... would be a bigger spread if not taking into account Cousins' Monday Night woes, prime time woes, etc....
