Zimmer isnt able to handle the current NFL and our D blows

Defense was on the field for forty minutes, they got gassed. Cook got nine carries and couldn't run wide, and the oline doesn't get a push up the middle. The oline needs a lot of work, but of course it will be addressed tomorrow...tomorrow...tomorrow...

Anyone feel like Stefanski probably spent more time preparing for his interview with the Browns than he did putting together a game plan?

Man, I was shocked by the way the Titans handled the Ravens.

It's unfortunate Zimmer and Spielman will get at least another year. How does it make sense to keep your head coach who is a defensive minded head coach when your defense sucks, it was embarrassing for me to watch that game yesterday with my house full of 49ers fans, not just because San Francisco was clearly a better team but rather because our defense was straight trash, they moved the ball at will. We didn't finally get a 3 and out until it didn't matter anymore. Being a lifelong Vikings fan has really been difficult. I honestly think I would rather they just turn into the Lions and go 6 - 10 every year instead of always giving us false hope only to tear our hearts out time after time!!

on 1 drive, and 14 at half means we were in the game. time of possession a huge factor in the 2nd half as the O was 3 and out the entire 2nd half until garbage time. That being said its time to move on from Linval and get some younger guys in there. Kendricks showed his worth once again. D has always been a step slower on grass

It wasn't 1 drive it was all game. We were just opportunistic at key times like we were a lot late in the year but the D was not good at all yesterday. The offensive play calling was worse though.

The question is where to we go? We're a veteran team and as constructed this is about our ceiling.


I like Zim but wonder if we should just start over.

If I had guess, well just try to patch things and be in wild card hunt again

I hope we don't extend cousins. You can do much worse, but I'd rather draft young kid and go for more

One more season with current coach and QB. Draft a QB very early in the draft. Go from there. After next season, it's free to do whatever. I am not a cap wiz. But I don't think it's smart to just cut ties with Cousins with it fully guaranteed.

Yeah that post-Saints game performance was very reminiscent of Pat Shurmur's last game with us in the 2017 Philly NFC championship game.

Also goes to show how wild HC hirings can be in the NFL. While some teams will try to go for established guys (like Dallas hiring Mike McCarthy), then you've got these teams like the Browns who will hire someone like Stefanski who was an OC for one less than stellar year, but had hype about him going a couple years back. Best of luck to him over in Cleveland, though, because he's going to need it.

I honestly don't know how fans of teams like the Lions do it year in and year out without viewing it as a passing joke as far as their preferred teams go. Imagine having 3 division titles total, the most recent of which dates back to 1993. That's almost 10 years before the current division formatting for the NFC North even happened. 17 total playoff appearances period since their formation as a team in the 1930's. Always one and done pretty much the few times they did make it recently. That has to be rougher than at least fielding some pretty good teams from time to time.
