Man, it's getting harder and harder to be patient while Ponder learns.
IMO, after the 3rd quarter when it was obvious the Vikes weren't moving the chains and there was still enough time in the game, coach should have changed QB's just to see if that would have sparked the offense. The season was pretty much on the line with that game, and it was still winnable at that point. The coach should have made the change just to get that spark. That doesn't mean that Ponder can't start next week, just that they needed a kick in the ass to get a win at that particular time in the game. Maybe I'm just more pissed than usual because it was the Pack, and it would have made things real tight in the North...
Sounds like you read Jim Souhan's column in the Star-Trbune [they always print an article from "the other sideline" in the GB paper after a game].
He basically said to bench Ponder in the 2nd half, not as punishment, but to try & get a spark.

Thing is I didn't see any wide-outs open anyway, so I'm not so sure it would've mattered [IMO]

The 2 picks in the red zone were bad, he under threw Peterson down the side line. He just doesn't hit the receivers coming out of their breaks any more, he's way late most of the time.

Yep. I say start Ponder but keep him on a leash. Have Webb standing by just in case things go south.

That's what I'm hoping, if they're leading at half let him start the 3rd, and see how it goes at the start of 4th and just keep going that way. Start Ponder the next week, and go with the same program.

If anything maybe it will motivate Ponder a little more with Webb standing by ready to take the ball from him.

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. — There are no more questions. Minnesota Vikings receiver Percy Harvin will miss the rest of the season.

Harvin's status has been dogging the Vikings since he suffered a badly sprained ankle Nov. 4 in a loss at Seattle. Minnesota coach Leslie Frazier and Harvin originally hoped he would be able to return two weeks after the injury, following the team's bye. But the dynamic playmaker won't make another appearance for the Vikings this season after he was placed on injured reserve Wednesday evening.

Harvin, a first-round pick in 2009, will see his fourth season end while still leading the team in catches (62) and receiving yards (677). He had three receiving touchdowns, one rushing touchdown and another score on a 105-yard kickoff return in helping Minnesota become one of the early-season surprises in the league. He also owns the league's top kickoff return average at 35.9 yards per return.

Earlier in the day, Frazier said it was "hard to say" whether Harvin would be able to return this season. The team made the season-ending move a few hours later.

After suffering the sprain against Seattle, Harvin had his ankle re-taped and went back in the game. Since then, he returned only for one practice on a limited basis in the middle of last week.

Harvin has been unable to apply much pressure to the injured ankle and has had trouble pushing off and cutting.

A Tuesday report on 1500ESPN.com said Harvin had suffered a Grade 3 sprain, which means the ligament was completely torn. Frazier didn't want to confirm that report Wednesday.

With four games remaining, the Vikings are clinging to desperate playoff hopes and will now have to face the schedule without Harvin.

This is bad news...
Playoffs for Fantasy Football start and my #1 receiver is done for the season..
