, I think given this year’s RFA crop I’d be targeting a forward and try to score a d-man on the trade market.

You. I like you.

So Friedman is reporting that the Jackets are trying to convince the Kuhhhh-niggits to not take Korpisalo. They are trying to work a deal where the Jackets will send them another asset if they take "someone else" (Jack Johnson).

I would love to have Subban in Columbus. Wouldn't even mind losing Korpi at that point. Hope there's some dealing going on before the draft.

My thought process was they needed a top dmen or a above average defenseman.

Thought about a another bold prediction last night: if the draft happens like I am guessing. One of the 4th liners (i don't know who) breaks out and becomes a stud.

How does MAF get in there? More directed to TSN than yourself.

I get people assume he's going to wind up there but really...why? If you're him, you just won two playoff rounds, you have control over your destination, you're 32, have rings...why are you waiving to go suck on an expansion team? What possible motive is there for him to do this?

I agree. Had to take him if he's available though.

My thought process is Jack Johnson sucks and I want him gone. :thumb:

Being new to how new hockey teams work, I am learning a bunch in this thread.

It's Vegas Golden Knights related news, so I'll drop it here...

The Vegas Golden Knights have named Rocky Thompson head coach of their AHL affiliate, the Chicago Wolves.

Thompson, 39, played 25 games during a brief NHL career with the Calgary Flames and Florida Panthers before moving into coaching. This past season he led the Windsor Spitfires to a Memorial Cup title.

“He knows how to win,” said Wolves general manager Wendell Young in a press release. “He was a tough, hard worker when he played and those characteristics have carried over as a coach. He is meticulous in every area. Everybody I’ve talked to in the hockey world has given him rave reviews.”

Added Golden Knights general manager George McPhee: “Player development is a significant priority for our organization and he has proven to be very capable in that area.”

Thompson is a Calgary native and spent the 2014-15 season as an assistant coach with the Edmonton Oilers.

Im one of the few who like Tanev.

Blue collar player. Comes in, does his job, leaves
I really like Tanev.
I hope 30 GMs do too.

This team still stinks, and if we can sell a piece to load up for when we actually might be good, I'm all for it.
Horvat is the leading edge of our core. Everyone else (of note) should be as young or younger.

Nucks developed Tanev into a very good asset. Time to cash in.

Truthfully I see no reason why Vegas would want him either. The only hope for us Penguin fans is the fact that they take him off the payroll.

I realize it's a bit of a ways off yet, but I can't wait for the 17-18 schedule to come out. I'm going to be in Vegas for a week in December and would love to catch a game while there.

"proven starter", marketable.

I've never really gotten over him fucking up in the World Juniors gold medal game in 2004.
some say I am pretty good at holding a grudge.
