I miss Seth Greenberg. Honest to God truth.

Finney-Smith said he was planning to leave VT before the coaching change, though he didn't announce until after Greenberg left.

I have to admit, we lost two very good players after he was fired. Still, you have to wonder about all the assistants leaving.

We really don't know the content of the "behind the scenes" discussions.

"Before that, the last time an assistant made his head-coaching debut in the ACC was when Virginia Tech hired former Virginia point guard Ricky Stokes in 1999."

If you're going to write a critical article, maybe it's best to get your own facts straight.

Va Tech was in the Big East in 1999, not the ACC. They didn't join the ACC until 2004, and Greenberg was the coach.

It's even worse. We weren't even in the Big East yet. Tech was Atlantic 10 when Stokes was hired.

At least he got the steep learning curve part right. Everything else...not so much

Greenberg would have cost us more games than Harrell would have won for us. We still come out ahead.

Yeah, that doesn't really bum me out. I wasn't a fan of how Greenberg ran the team to begin with and thought he legitimately could have been fired for performance (and not whatever Weaver's excuses were). We'll never know, but had he stayed, I wouldn't have been shocked at all if he didn't underutlilize Harrell. Just look how bad he mismanged DFS. He was a guy that was good with the ball in his hands yet he turned him into a jump shooter with the "sets" we ran.

Interesting...

I have to say, I don't know anything about him as a player, but I like his name!

Orig from NC, grew up watching ACC ball, and wants to play in the ACC (at least thats what he stated last year)

"South Florida, Stanford, Virginia Tech and Tennessee are my favorites,”

“My family and I are heavily leaning towards making our decision in August after the July live period,” he said. “The most important factor will be who I feel will provide the best environment for me while attending the school, and also who will best prepare me for life after basketball.”

From what I can tell, he doesn't have an offer from VT.

Of his four favorites, it appears that only Sough Florida has offered.
