Sounds like sour grapes to me. The strength and conditioning coach must have got into with Lynch and has a vendetta against him. If Taggert the HC and one of Harbaugh's best friend gave his blessing on Lynch that's all that matters to the FO IMO.

In the world of recruiting and selling your program, you never want to throw a student athlete under the bus (even after the fact)...

It's a pick that definitely makes me nervous. As log as we take a gamble on a select few and continue to bring in guys who can lead these guys and watch out for them, then I think it can work. Lynch seems to he the most questionable draft pick we had as far as character concerns.

It speaks volumes IMO that a coach would publicly say this about one of their players. That would seriously scare me.

I hear ya on this one. However, this is the epitome of risk/reward in my eyes. A 5th round pick on a 1st round talent with behavior issues. My thought is that based on what was told to Harbaugh by his buddy that coaches Lynch, that he may have had success with him when X was implemented to keep Lynch in line. Harbaugh hears this and immediately puts Cowboy, Ray Ray, and Willis on babysitting duties.

I don't know enough to judge the pick overall, but there isn't a lot of investment so I'm not saying it's a terrible move. I read the linked article and the kid can at least talk the talk, plus the actual coach vouched for him, so that's not bad.

It's just that it's not every day you hear a coach disrespecting their guys like that. Maybe it says more about the coach than the athlete, I guess. We'll see.

No reason to get nervous its a Boom or Bust pick. This can be a great pick or just another 5th rd pick.

He got suspended for that??? Nobody can say anything any more if they're employed by football organizations.

I miss the days when men could say what they mean instead of flattering everyone with bull shit.

I wouldn't blame the head coach for firing him for publicly disrespecting their players. Others, whatever, but when a coach will talk shit on their own guys, that does not send a good message to people you're trying to recruit.

Agree. Why wait intil after he was drafted. If you had a problem with him. Why not say it before hand.

My impression was for Lynch to be used in the 3rd down pass rush specialist role to start. So more DE while he learns OLB role/responsibility.

Yeah, that probably wasn't his choice.

Hmm, guy left Notre Dame somewhat unexpectedly, now a former coach rips him, all circumstantial and may not mean a single thing in the pros, but some minor warning signs.

I do worry about him in the OLB meetings. Brooks and Aldon aren't exactly great role models. Probably our weakest unit, character-wise.
