Yes, it is. What's even the argument?

You can swap in and out RB's. Teams running production doesn't change. Elite running teams still run well with any RB. Bad running teams still run poorly with any RB.

There is A MOUNTAIN... of data on this. A MOUNTAIN.

What could possibly be less important?

And star power? Who gives a shit? I am talking about importance and impact.

You swap out Payton, Sayers, Sanders and Smith (which was tested btw) for any douche RB and production stays the same? You're going to go with this? Seriously.

Fucking idiots on this board i swear.

@BearsWillWin Just try to be open minded to this little taste of the data. If you have numbers to to counter, I will gladly do the same. :)

2019 Chiefs - 2 RBs that averaged 4.5 YPC or better and 13 TDs come from the backfield. Averaged 120 yards on the ground in the playoffs.

2018 Pats - 2 RBs that averaged 4.5 YPC and 15 TDs from their running back group. In the playoffs they rushed for 155 yards, 176 yards, and then 154 yards in the superbowl in a low scoring game.

2017 Eagles - 3 RBs combined for almost 1500 yards and 7 TDs in the regular season at 4.7 YPC. In the playoffs they averaged 123 yards on the ground as a team with Blount and Ajayi rushing for 147 yards and a score on 23 carries in the SB.

2016 Pats - Blount/Lewis/White combine for over 1500 yards and Blount hits paydirt 18 times. In the playoffs the team rushes for 4 touchdowns with James White getting the last two including the OT winner.

2015 Broncos - Two backs combine for nearly 1600 yards and 12 scores and average a tick under 100 yards per game in the playoffs. CJ Anderson rushes for 23 carriers and 90 yards with a score in the SB.

Running backs matter. They are important. You don't win without an effective run game. And obviously there's more that goes into an effective run game than just the guy that runs the ball.

Running backs also block. And they catch passes. They can be decoys. They do a lot.

You can type 900 paragraphs and post every stat you can google as well as every tweet you can find....nothing you're gonna post is going to make running backs unimportant or less important than another position.

You don't need a stud. You don't need a Pro Bowler or an All Pro. You don't have to pay them massive money or even resign them after the rookie deal is expired. But you need running backs and they do need to know how to operate within the offense. They are highly important to a good offense. End of story.

This can be said of ANY position.

Five bucks to the first guy that goes to Bears training camp and when Montgomery walks out to go home yells

“Yo Montgomery we could get somebody that does what you do off the waiver wire. Check the stats everyman!”

That's every QB to win the big one since the SB became a thing. Lot more HOFers, All Pros, Pro Bowlers, and studs there then there are journeymen or forgettable average QBs.

If it's Rich doing it he'd probably bring along a binder of stats and analytical data to read from as well.

The point is "you don't need". It can be done w/out a stud QB. Just like every other player on a team can be replaced with non stud to make it work. Sure, you can win w/out Walter Payton, but it's easier with him.

Why is this so complex grey pubes?

Far more great QBs win Superbowls
than average ones.....it’s not even close. The scales are tipped massively in one direction.

Why’s this so complex, tiny balls?

I’ve proven “you do need” a QB.

Class dismissed. Take off the dunce cap and go home.

Who said anything about not needing a QB. Every position is needed, the question is whether a pro bowl is needed at the QB position. And Trent Dilfer proved you don't need stud. Get it yet?

Exception to the rule. Understand what that means? If 100 people jump off a cliff and 3 of them don’t die...does that prove jumping off a cliff is safe?

The majority, overwhelming majority, of SB winning QBs are HOF types.

The McMahon, Brad Johnson, Trent Dilfer types....average at best QBs that won with historically great defenses are the exception to the rule.

WRONGO grey pubes again.

What does McMahon, Johnson and Dilfer have in common? They were part of an elite defense. You can win with an average QB but you have to make it up somewhere else. It can be done and the chances of it being done is much much higher than surviving jumping off of a cliff (which is a dumbass analogy).

Now go look up how many elite QBs missed the Super bowl or lost in the super bowl then tell me how valid your stat is. You can start with Dan Marino. Then you can move over to the 28 other Hall of Fame QBs that don't have rings.

The point is it takes the entire team. And no one position requires a stud, you just have to make it up somewhere else.

So you don’t understand what exception to the rule means? Interesting. I’d expect more of a genius.

Name 30 average QBs that won the SB......Name 20....Name 10 that were totally average for their entire career. How about 5?

Exception to the rule....

I notice you circle back when you have nothing..Ok i'll play

Name 28 Hall of Fame QBs who have yet to win the Super Bowl.

Examine the 52 Super Bowl winning teams I bet they all have great kickers too. Doesn't mean kickers are as important as RBs.

You're dumb.
