PC - So it's over with Cuddy & the Twins? I haven't heard but what you and the Beachster have reported. If so, sure, Kubel looks good but Cuddy had more upside. I do not get this one at all. Maybe Cuddy will call me to explain, after all, I got a picture of him and me at Spring Training last year, I mean, we're practically Twins!

buck - Cuddy is signing with the Rockies. Sounds like it will be a three year $31.5MM deal.

Now that Cuddy is out they are making more of an effort to sign Kubel.

PC - They (Ryan, etal) know way more about this than I do, and it's their money, I will abide by their decision, but I'm not happy about it. That was my lucky jersey too!

Beach Baby - I don't want to come off as an "elitist" but, being born and raised in Minneapolis means "Minneapolis" and not one of them there suburbs. I'm right from the bowels of So. Mpls near Lake & Chicago. See if your "other" recognizes this area. P/S - I ain't a goin' back! He'll know what I'm talkin' about.

No bad thing being a Marlins fan, they're in the NL anyway. With Ozzie, the show should be good this year. I love Miami & Little Havana so I'm goin'! If I could figure out how to get Gopher Hockey down here I'd do it. I've always liked Mn. High School Hockey and Gopher Hockey and miss both a lot. Vikings not so much. Wild is in St. Paul, enough said. That town is better suited for Pro-Rasslin'! Just teasin', I love that town too!

Coop-a-who?

3 years 30 million for Cuddy with the Rockies,
Twins offered 3 years 25 million, they needed the other 5 million for starting pitcher. We'll see who they go after soon, I suppose..

Good job on signing Willingham, he was a thorn in our side last season.

Well, not sure what you mean by "elitist", but ya, he is from the actual city, not a suburb....not sure of the neighborhood name, but he grew up around where the Metrodome is now, and he still has family there, and in the North Eastern part of the city as well, and some up in Fridley (which I know that is a suburb).

He is quite a bit older than I am, so his sporting memories go back to the 80's, the Puckett days in baseball, the what he termed "Black n Blue" division of football when my hometowns Buccaneers wore pasty orange and in the same division as all the upper midwest teams, the North Star days, and to when the Timberwolves were founded.

Back to Cuddyer, even though he will no longer be a Twin, I still can't find it in me to root against him. Don't get me wrong, I won't be a Rockies fan, but I do wish him personal success in Denver...hey, maybe if the Rocks fall OUT of contention (which is quite possible given their current team), Cuddyer will be available for a surprising Minnesota Twins team to pick up for their playoff push...:whoo:

At any rate, this wouldn't be the first time, nor the last I am sure, that my sporting heart will be broken: You see, I was/am a diehard Carl Crawford fan...Mr. Devil Ray...Mr. Ray...and Mr. Tropicana Field....thought he would stay with the team FOREVER....well, not only did he NOT stay, but he signed with division nemesis Boston......I hope Boston chokes away their playoff position EVERY year...but wish Carl success personally....see where I am going?

No Rockie Rooty for me....but have a great year Cuddyer....I still love ya...

Sand Dollar - I know that area quite well, I was born in a hospital not far from the Metrodome. We called that area Central Mpls., just on the fringe of downtown. The main street that dead-ends at the stadium is Chicago Ave. the same Chicago I alluded to yesterday. I did a lot of business in So. Mpls and the Southern Suburbs. Your "other" is definitely pedigree in my book if he came outta that area.

I feel the same as you about Cuddy. He's just flat-out a good guy and a very good ball-player. But, as Hawk Harrelson says on White Sox broadcasts, "He gone!"

I will always root for Cuddy. One of the best players out there imo. Might have to try to get him on my fantasy team next season so I can keep rooting for him.

I also am a fan of Crawford. Had him on my fantasy team last year. The only time I didn't care for him was back in 2008 when he made his best efforts to stop the Phillies from their epic WS win.

With Cuddy and Kubel out the door it seems to me that we are entering a new era of Twins baseball. It’s time to start looking to the new up-and-comers like Hughes, Parmelee, Plouffe, Benson and Tosoni to step up and show us what they can really do in the bigs. To look on the bright side, this brings into conversation a handful of hungry young players who are ready to get the call and make a big impression while wearing a Twins uniform.

Probably wishful thinking but Oswalt sounds like he is prepared to accept the fact that he is not going to get three years and is now in search of a one year deal. Would be nice if the Twins grabbed him and he held up for the year without his back giving him too much trouble.

Keep me up on the guys out there, PC, I appreciate this. I'm not thinking about that stuff. I'm so busy chasin' my tail everyday that I don't have the time. I'm just gonna wait and see what Terry Ryan does the next few months. It's outta my hands, that's for sure!
