ESPN's Courtney Cronin reports the Vikings remain in pursuit of Redskins LT Trent Williams.
Minnesota had previously offered a Day 3 pick to the Redskins last week, but Washington apparently wants a little bit more. The Vikings can make it happen with 12 picks across the next two days, but the Redskins are running out of suitors after the Browns and Bucs both drafted tackles in the first round Thursday night to pretty much eliminate themselves from the Williams sweepstakes. The Vikings don't have much cap space to work with, so Cronin suggests Minnesota could send a pick and incumbent LT Riley Reiff to D.C. for Williams.

Reiff is better than what we have. Reiff and a 3rd would be great. We have no leverage now unless the Pats step up and offer picks. They have multiple 3rds and 4ths.

NBC Sports' JP Finlay reports the Redskins wants a package that gets second round value for LT Trent Williams.
Finlay noted that Washington is speaking with multiple teams, but they remain focused on getting fair compensation back in any deal. They're reportedly willing to be flexible about how a team wants to creates a fair package worthy of second round value, although the market could be drying up just a bit after the Browns and Jets each took offensive tackles in the first round. Williams has been one of the league's best blindside protectors for years and would be an upgrade for most, if not all, teams. The Vikings have been a trendy contender according to recent reports.

It'd be nice to get one of those prime 2nd round WR's... Shenault - if he's healthy - would be a great fit for the Skins.

Moving into round 2, any team needing a viable starter at LT can draft such player however, they are not of Trent's caliber by any means. He is still valuable to any team needing a top tier LT so I believe there could be a team or two besides the Vikes who could be putting a package together for TW.

Wow. Viks, Sea, Chi, and Sea have extra picks. He is not worth two thirds? I don't get it.

I'm really curious why teams are so hesitant to give up a 2nd for Trent. Most believe he is better than any LT in the draft today. Is a 2nd really out of line for one of the premier LTs in the league? Or is it the expectations of having the renegotiate TW's deal that are scaring teams off? I gotta believe that its more of the latter....

I actually like the idea that the Redskins aren't going to roll over for TW, or his agent, OR the other NFL teams. I love the idea that they're sticking to their guns: 2nd round level compensation or forget it.

TW made his bed, and now he has to lie in it. I hope, that if no deal is made, that they not only force TW to either play for the redskins, or make sure that he can't show up with six weeks left and have his new year "accrue." I'm not even sure that that loophole is part of the new CBA anyway.

It's too bad, really. TW is probably still a Top 5 LT in the game. If he would lower his salary demand, this would have been over already. Nobody's paying a 31-year-old with extensive recent injury histories, suspension histories, and now a relative malcontent top dollar.

He and his agent were stupid enough to believe that somebody would.

It's gotta be TW's insistent on an exorbitant salary for who TW is now, that is preventing a deal from being done.

Lower his salary demands to something reasonable, and I'm sure the deal would be done soon enough.

You would think Tw and his agent know that teams are only offering a Day 3 pick for him. I hope something happens tonight. A lot of teams who need OT's have multiple 3rds and 4ths.
