Bowen apppears to have dodged a bullet. The 'Skins signed his best friend, Hatcher and they haven't cut him or asked him to take a paycut YET. While I think this may be his last year here, I'd like to see a rookie come in and have the luxury of not being game planned against, thanks to Hatcher. We have some decent depth and may finally get to the QB, helping out Amerson tremendously.

based off their nfl.com draft profiles tuitt seems like the better more complete player, hageman is the workout warrior. ill take tuitt.

Tuitt may be the safer pick but Hageman has more of a ceiling. I would take Hageman. There is more risk there, but he could turn out to be very very good.

The drafting of these guys would mean we have no confidence in Jarvis Jenkins and Baker. Even if they cut Bowen cant our current three be able to hold the fort down for 2-3 years? Plus we still have Golhsten.

what it means is that we are getting a young rotation in place

So if we draft a DE that would mean that we would have 6 De's on the roster. We only keep 4, so Gholsten and Bowen gets cut.

Plus Jenkins is a FA in 2015 so now I can see why they might target DE. So 2015 DE's would be Hatcher, Baker, and 2014 2nd round pick.

its called upgrading, of course the back ups will have strong feelings about it.

imagine if another "injury" occurs.....that rookie would come in handy. Besides Jenkins is a pure run stopper, he has been ineffective as a pass rusher. I think Baker is a great rotational guy and not someone you want starting 16 games.
Bowen has one chance to back up his "I'm the best at what I do talk"....I'm not sure he'll even win the starting job if a DE is drafted.

Baker actually got starter money this year. IF we draft a DE that will make 6. We know Gholsten will be cut so who is the other one? It has to be Bowen. Or do we carry 5 De in a 3-4 defense?

baker and jenkins can play NT . Cofield is a NT . i see us as having hatcher (32) golston (30) bowen (30) and a set of NT's who can move out but again cofield is (30)

you have geathers (26) and worthington (27) who have been solely BU's

so i see a rotation of young guys like baker , jenkins tuitt , maybe urban and geathers who can add numbers to the rotation and being used all along the LOS

The current NT's right now are Cofield, Geathers, and Neild. You only keep 2. The De's are Hatcher, Bowen, Jenkins, Baker, Gholsten, and the draft pick. You only keep 4. My point is if you draft a De at 34 doesn't Bowen get cut?

1. Geathers is a DE, not an NT.

2. Not realistic to roll into the season with only six D-lineman on roster.

Only way Bowen isnt on roster is if he is on the PUP or IR. Depth and ratation ablilty are what they are going for. So even if they draft a DE at 34, I dont think Bowen gets cut.

If we keep 7 it will work with Neild and Gholsten being cut. I can see that. Tuitt and Hageman become the instant BPA if they are there at 34.

Yeah, it appears Bowen is safe, the only way I see him being released is after June 1, if a DeSean type player is released from another team and we cut Bowen to chase the other guy.

I just thought if we took a De at 34 he would be released If we keep 7 DLineman he is safe. Plus Jenkins is a FA next year so DE makes a lot of sense at 34 if Tuitt or Hageman are there.

I'm excited about either prospect, its amazing how minor knee/weight issues drop guys. Tuitt has nearly 20 sacks over the past two seasons, and I believe two pick 6's or at least two defensive TDs.
