For right now, he's staying put. But he may explode all over another team any day now.

The one team mentioned most is Calgary. The Caps apparently want Rene Bourque to be part of the deal.

Tyler, don't you worry about Brouwer or Alzner getting inked either. McPhee would not risk that. They will both be on the good guys side, come training camp.

From what I understand the Caps might be worried about Alzner getting an offersheet from somebody. So they want to free up some cap space to sign him long term.

I think Calgary is more interested in Alzner than Semin from some of the rumours I've been reading. It also appears that even with the bargain basement price Vokoun gave Washington, the Caps are still in some cap trouble.

Carrerra over at Caps Insider also makes a good point. A trade is not a neccessity before the season. If Fehr and Poti even start the season on LTIR (which is almost assured for both), there is around 5 million to work with under the cap. They would just have to make room before bringing them back up. In that case a significant injury (season ending even) happens to one of the stars, they have some insurance.

Alzner and Brouwer will both be Capitals. I feel 100% confident with that.
