I would prefer a 2010 World Series rematch over a 2016 NBA Finals rematch. Dont want the prospect of giving Cleveland 2 titles in a matter of a few months...How about a 2010 rematch this year....in play for sure

I hardly use twitter. I only check every few days to see what the beat guys are saying. I couldnt care less about what Steve from Concord has to say about anything.Hell yeah they are. Twitter is on fire about losing Duffy.
Maybe not here as much, but we don't exactly represent the fan base very well lol

I get what you are saying. I am just saying I was unaware of that backlash because I dont expose myself to that medium (unlike Dreymond, apparently).I'm just saying they are the masses. The masses hated trading away Williams. The masses don't seem to fond of trading away Duffy. I haven't listened to KNBR yet, but that'll be an indicator as well. Doesn't matter if they're right, just answering your question that yes, people are pissed.

In the last few days, the Giants gave up...
Duffy
Bickford
Mejia
Santos
Fox
Susac
for
Moore
Smith
Nunez
I am not a big fan of the Smith trade, but the moves as a whole I like A LOT. Losing Bickford SUCKS. Losing Duffy sucks, but more on an emotional level. As a player, he was probably playing over his head, and he suffered a MAJOR injury (strained Achilles), so who knows how he will be moving forward. Losing Fox kinda sucks, but dude is only 18 or 19, so he is still 4 or 5 years away. A lot can happen in 4 or 5 years. Santos, Mejia and Susac are good MLB prospects, but not game changers.
In return, the Giants now have probably the best 1-4 in the Bigs (or at least right there in the discussion), a replacement for Affeldt, which the team has been looking for since '14 and a Zobrist-type who will fill in at 3B until Arroyo is ready (MAYBE 2017??).
Then you wouldn't follow Steve from Concord.I hardly use twitter. I only check every few days to see what the beat guys are saying. I couldnt care less about what Steve from Concord has to say about anything.
I think the Matt Moore is probably the best of the three trades as well. It was a lot easier to see Duffy move on with his lack of production and extended time on the dl, along with the production of his multiple replacements. Evans sure was coy on why he acquired Nunez. Funny that some of us thought it was Panik moving on and not Duffy. Are people pissed about the Moore trade, though? I am OK with that trade. The Smith trade leaves me scratching my head...
I think Panik was "available", but only in the right deal. I think Arroyo probably projects better as a 2B.I think the Matt Moore is probably the best of the three trades as well. You forgot:So in summation:
- some on the board are sad/mad about the trades
- some on the board are ok with the trades
- some on the board are happy about the trades
- fuck you Steve from Conchord
He has been compared to Jeter and Posey since the day he was drafted. That was the main reason they drafted him. He just commands respect from the clubhouse.I dunno about comparing him to Jeter or Posey, but I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up being the starting 3b Opening Day 2017
Maybe they just want him to play? I think they are going with Maldonado for this year.Interesting. The Brewers optioned Susac to Colorado Springs. Maybe they don't think of him very highly. Instead, they called up 29 year old journeyman Manny Pina.

Seems a curious move for a rebuilding team. Typically, they want to play the rookies to see what they've got. As much as I like Susac, he's no Posey. He doesn't seem the type of player a team would be concerned about the service clock.Maybe they don't think they are going to make the 2016 post-season and thus they are NOT running up the service time clock on Susac. They can evaluate him in the minors without making him a super-two, and without paying him 90k/month.
