Yeah, I mean we've touched upon the usual suspects here. Jagr probably isn't very likely. I wouldn't mind Hemsky. We have some tradeable pieces that a lot of these teams could use. Maybe Lou has an off the radar move in the works? Even with Kovy and Zubrus I still think we need a winger that can put the puck in the net. Ideally our lineup would look something like this going into the playoffs:

New Winger - Lokti - Kovy
Elias - Zajac - Zubrus
D'Agostini/Poni - Henrique - Clarkson
Carter - Gionta - Bernier

It's so tough to get a read on Lou, I have absolutely no idea where we're at right now in terms of making a deal. The Zidlicky deal came out of nowhere last year, even the Kovy deal a few years back I don't think anybody saw coming. Hoping he has something in the works, maybe something we're not even thinking about.

Pitt and Boston are the cream of the crop. I know Montreal is ahead of Boston in the standings but they don't scare me in a 7 game series. Who else is there? Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa? These teams don't scare me. When we're healthy and if we're playing well there is no reason we can't beat those teams.

If we add another weapon up front along with a healthy Kovy and Zubrus I honestly think we can take the East. Anything can happen in the playoffs, like Philly knocking off Pitt last year, Washington taking out Boston, etc.

Toronto doesn't scare me but they could. Reimer, IMHO, could potentially steal a series. Ottawa has a lot of injured players. Winnipeg has given us fits but they're really not that great of a team.

thing is this is where we miss parise big time. you need that 1-2 punch. the role plays then grind down the defenses. but without zach its just a 1 punch.

playoffs for the devils if we make it will come down to marty. if its marty of last playoffs we have a shot. if its marty of the 1st round flops then we have no shot. cant be giving up bad goals

I think you're right, especially since teams can now gameplan around Kovy. In a 7 game series with teams focusing solely on shutting down Kovy I can see him getting frustrated and losing his head. If we have another guy to alleviate that pressure it will go a long way.

We need more than one guy. Can't rely on Clarkson and Elias or even Zubrus to take up the slack.

i was reading on tg's blog that everyone is thinking we can beat the pens. i dont think we really can. our pp is horrible the pk is a ghost of its former self from last year. the team isnt the same as last year. missing parise is HUGE.
