Is Dave Sims only part time now? I didn't like Dave much at first since he wasn't a baseball guy but he's done a ton of games since he came here and knows what he's talking about.

I hated Dave Sims until I had to listen to Goldsmith.

Goldsmith also calls games for Fox sports and the PAC-12 so for whatever reason I have to assume he is highly regarded within the industry.

He's probably being paid a lot of money and the Mariners want to get their $$$ worth out of him. Honestly he has a great voice and everything, but as a Mariners fan he's annoying to listen to.

I'll happily admit that I've been wrong so far on the Santana trade.

Excluding today, he is hitting .315/.438/.478 since the start of June. I think I read something about how he tweaked how he approached fastballs with the Royals and this has been the result.

I had read that as well. But even if he wasn't this hot, all he had to do was be good enough to keep Toro out of the lineup and that's not a very high bar.
