Obviously every list should start with Gronk at the top.

1) Gronk--Easy choice
2) Graham--He won't get the targets this year that he did with New Orleans but the guy will be a touchdown machine in the Red Zone
3) Jason Witten--I think with the OL the Cowboys have that Witten will have a great year. The run game won't be quite as good as last year so there will be some more throwing opportunities in my opinion and Witten will get a decent number of those.
4) Travis Kelce--I honestly almost put him as my #2. This kid is looking like a huge break out candidate. I only put him here because he has Alex Smith as his QB and a terrible OL that will make the passing game very difficult.
5) Owen Daniels--A little bit of a homer pick but Manning has shown that pretty much any TE that plays with him goes on to have a career year.

Alex Smith helps his TEs and doesn't help his subpar WRs. The OL is an issue, despite his mobility.

Alex Smith actually has a receiver to throw the ball to now. I don't view Macklin as a helping addition to TKs production. But I think the Chiefs benefit from it quite a bit.

Jimmy Graham and Rob Gronkowski are the two most talented TEs in the NFL right now, but I wouldn't be surprised if Graham statistically doesn't match his yardage/catch totals he had in New Orleans due to the fact that the Seahawks throw the ball a significant amount less than the Saints. I expect him to see a lot of targets in the red zone though, and there is a strong chance he could match his touchdown total, if not exceed his prior TD numbers he had with the Saints.

No disrespect to Jermaine Kearse and Doug Baldwin, but they are not significant red zone threats due to their lack of size. I expect Graham to see a significant number of targets when the Seahawks get into the red zone. I could see Graham's yardage total to drop into the 700s, but I'd be surprised if he didn't surpass 10 TD catches this upcoming year.

Well he doesn't have to play against Kam Chancellor anymore so he's got that going for him. That's at least one less in-game change of underwear a year.

This is Zach Ertz year. 1000+ is comimg. Put up identical numbers to Witten in 1/2 the snaps.

I'm not saying he's a top 5 blocking TE, but even if you take everything into account he's still top 5 overall due to the receiving threat he brings.
Agree he's definitely top 5.

Depending on when Murray and Matthews get hurt, I could see Ertz leading the team in yards from scrimmage.

Hopefully giving Murray less carries helps them stay fresh and injury free. Mattews wont be a lead back... unless Murray does get injured. But this is Ertz's year and a great fantasy TE to pick up in the mid to late rounds.

I think Ertz is a great target. Especially since a few other TEs will surely go before he does.

I thought it would be last year and it wasn't. But yes, this might be the year Zach Ertz becomes a top 5 TE.

He did have a 15 reception game late last year. Blocking has kept him in a part time role but he has supposedly worked with Hudson Hauck and Tony G this offseason and is trying to become a better all-around TE.

Ownen Daniels??? Wasn't the OP asking for opinions on the Top 5 TE's?

Peyton Manning makes superstars out of TEs. Or haven't you noticed?

So is this supposed to be a prediction on top 5 order of finish for 2015 in TE receiving yards or a subjective ranking on the top 5 best players? The OP listed '14 receiving yard totals "for reference."

My intent was for people to pick who they think will be the best 5 TE's for 2015. I just listed those 5 from '14 not to imply they are the best from '14, but just as a means to add to the discussion. I would have a different list for top 5 TE's of 2014 than just the top 5 TE's in receiving yards for example.

Don't think that anyone has mentioned Julius Thomas, who has been one of the most productive pass catching TEs in the league the last two years. Interesting to see whether he maintains that level of production in Jacksonville. I doubt that he will.

A guy who I think is a very underrated all-around TE is Duane Allen.

My bad. I wasn't aware a 32 yr old journeyman TE was about to be in the Pro Bowl. I'm scratching off Jimmy Graham as we speak for my fantasy team and replacing him with this gold nugget Owen Daniels pick.

Thomas joins a very deep group of target options for Bortles.

I think in a couple of years that group could be very impressive on offense. But I'm not confident Thomas will be a Top 5 TE this year. Tbh, I wouldn't draft him in the Top Ten at his position.

I was huge on Duane Allen coming out of college. And I think is value is still huge as an overall player. He can do things for the Colts that very few "TEs" can do. But I don't think he'll ever produce statistically enough to be considered a top five guy. He did get a lot of looks in the redbone and in particular the end zone last year. So he does have the opportunity to be a huge production guy as far as scoring. Just not a yardage type receiving option.

Daniels could be a top five guy if Manning stays healthy. It's not like #18 is going deep much anymore.

OD would just be another guy on a long list of players that Manning made great, or atleast look really good on a stat sheet.

we will truly find out whether Graham was made by the Saints offense and Drew Brees or if he is truly an elite talent... he will definitely get significantly less targets, and significantly less catches... question is will he make the best of those catches...
