Well I have never seen the Godfathers so I can't comment on those, but Goodfellas is a straight up mafia movie.

But I wouldn't call any of the Ocean's movies a mob movie.

They definitely are crime films. They are caper and big heist films.

Btw the Original Oceans 11 with the original Sinatra rat pack is still very good.

Those who liked that series would probably like that too.

and I guess Swordfish was pretty good

Yeah to me it is a mafia movie, Just happens to have a heist in it. The focal of the story is around the lead and the mafia, not so much the act of the heist.

Hmm, maybe we need categories. Heist, murder, mob, etc


We know Die hard is a christmas movie, but it's also a heist movie and an action film, it fucking covers everything. Alan Rickman IMO is the character/actor that pushes movie over top, so while movies focus is on the good guys stopping the heist, I still have a hard time not including die hard.

Point Break is another that is awesome.

I thought about Menace II Society, but I don't think it is as good as the ones I mentioned. Haven't seen Casino, but I hear it's good. Been a long time since I have seen GoNY.
