No, I agree that he's good and is getting better. Perhaps I'm just old school, but I'll take the HRs and RBIs from Prince over Belt at this point. Like I said, that will probably change in another year or two, but for now, I"ll take Fielder.


You're a Mets fan, so I'll use two great Met 1st basemen who were great despite not being big HR/RBI guys...

Were John Olerud or Keith Hernandez not that good because they weren't big HR/RBI guys? I'd take them over someone like Andres Galarraga or Paul Konerko or Tino Martinez who all were much bigger power threats for their careers (granted, the careers didn't fully overlap).

Prince Fielder also saw 170 more runners on base during his PAs. That's a pretty big part of the RBI difference.
