So for all the ROTY talk about RG3, Wilson, and Luck, it turns out that Colin Kaepernick is the one that makes it to the conference championship game. Crazy.

Best rookie QB year ever.

I am not a big Flacco fan but he deserves a nice contract. It certainly wasnt all him but winning at least one playoff game in his first five years in the league and three AFC championship appearances is pretty nice. I really do worry about how the team would do if he is the QB for the next 6 years or so, and he can be inconsistent, but with his accomplishments he deserves an extension.

Plus I have been really happy with his playoff performances the last two years.

He's no Tony Romo, that's for sure.

The fact that he was nearly identical to the name of a fictional character who played quarterback for a movie that was filmed in the same town alone deserves an extension. ;)

I feel bad for Alex Smith.

Not really. But I hope the 49ers take it now. Although I may have just placed a curse on them as I wanted the Vikings and Seahawks to go far.

No back-up rookie QB has ever led his team to the Championship Game in the NFL before.

Not even a starting rookie QB has ever done that.
I present Big Ben '04 as Exhibit A.

If Kaepernick makes it to the Super Bowl, I will concede.

Kaepernick isn't a rookie.

Yea, I think he played two games in 2011, from his wiki page.

I realize John Fox deserves some of the blame for the Broncos loss yesterday, but Peyton Manning deserves the bulk of it. He threw 2 INT's, 1 a pick 6. The other led to the game winning FG. He also had a fumble lost. The media needs to stop with their love for this guy. He's 9-11 in the postseason for his career & 5 of those losses came when his team had home field advantage. Peyton Manning isn't a top 5 QB of all time because of his play in the clutch. People have talked about how great a QB Roger Stauback was & they were right, he was outstanding, but Terry Bradshaw was as clutch as they come & has never gotten the credit he deserves.

In fairness to Peyton that pick 6 should have been caught, that one is on the receiver. I don't think he's to blame for this loss.
