Houston is a hapless organization with no clear direction.
No offense to Texans fans meant. Just stating the direction of the organization.

Spoken like a Bengals fan who sees the end of the line and a return to the dark days. They are a comin'

I can't see Elway bringing him to DEN. His playoff record sux and he throws interceptions at the worst possible time.

If Houston seriously uses Bouye or Osweiler as an excuse to not bring in Romo- then they are just incredibly unimaginative with the cap or just outright dumb and/or stubborn. "Not enough money" is not only a falsehood, it's a bad one.

He's not going to sign anywhere. He's done. And I happened to see ESPN at a pizza shop yesterday. They were talking about Romo. I understand why they have to fire everyone and why they are sinking Disney's stock if all they talk about are players that aren't even going to play in 2018.

There are dumb teams. He's not going to play a full season anywhere. That's for damn sure.
Desperate maybe, dumb not really. Particulalry if it's Houston. Would go from zero to something if nothing else contention wise; if they do nothing they're going to be left out in the cold by the Titans. It's desperate but desperate times call for desperate measures.

Lots of overlap there with desperate and dumb. They're likely to get more passing yards out of Osweiler next season than Romo.

I'm not even sure if it would be a desperate move by the Broncos. Here is the way I understand things for the Broncos.

1) They are needing a veteran anyway that can come in and help bring some leadership to the locker room. Romo does that whether he is playing or hurt.

2) Gives them another year to evaluate Lynch and help train him up before putting him on the field.

3) Even if Romo gets hurt then they still have plan B of getting Lynch experience.

4) They have teams contacting them about trading for Trevor Siemian. Last I heard they have 4 deals on the table if/when they sign Tony Romo for Siemian.

I would probably agree even If I don't trust Romo to stay healthy for any reasonable amount of time. That's moreso why I labeled it as a maybe versus "well it makes sense for the Broncos."

Thats actually somewhat surprising. I'll admit that Im not a QB guru or anything but Siemian seems like a solid backup QB to me and nothing more

Agreed. For a team hoping to maybe draft a QB next year though he could be a nice stop gap and that could be worth a late round pick to get. He is a well liked player and with the Broncos letting go of pretty much the entire offensive staff they have scattered throughout the NFL. My guess is they are telling FO people to give the Broncos a call and just see what the value is for the kid.

Yeah, I am not seeing the Siemian love. IIRC Denver was only the 6th team to have the #1 DVOA defense and still miss the playoffs. Bad QB play and Bad OL play are pretty deadly. CJ Anderson injury? Now you're beating a dead horse. Definitely looks like a backup to me or lowend starter.

I could see someone parting with a late round pick for him.

I think if I was a Broncos fan, I'd want them to go all in on Lynch next year. 1 year on the bench? Sure, I get it in the situation. 2 years? Thats questionable.

I agree but Romo is still gonna get hit and I think his body is breaking down on him. That's my major concern, not wether or not he can still play.....I think he can.
He can definitely play, great player when healthy. Why I'd take a chance on him is the fact that a lot of the injuries Romo has sustained were a result of rushing back too soon after a different injury. By the time September rolls around, he will probably be healthier than he has been in 5-6 years since he basically had last season off

Agreed. Romo should be a 1-year situation unless they don't actually believe in Lynch being the long-term solution.

Even this year, I think you'd want your QB of the Future to be at least competent enough to be Romo-like. I honestly dont think the Broncos window is small enough to stop gap Romo for one year. Lynch was a top flight upside QB prospect and has had one year to absorb the game. As Bruce Arians says, you don't learn much on the bench. Lynch needs to get out there for better or worse. I feel if you bring Romo in and Lynch is ready to make the next step this year then its going to create a lot of drama. Or not...but it would suck to be Romo in that situation.

Little shocked the Cowgirl fans aren't all up in here thanking Romo for his service and loyalty....
I agree, Romo gave the Boys great service and loyalty.
