I thought Bryz was great. OV's goal wasnt his problem, but he didnt get lucky a few times. (Post, going right through the crease). The Caps SO goal (Hendricks?) made a nice move. Some goalies follow it, others dont. He played the Caps' penalty shot nicely. Went for the poke check, and it worked.

G had a nice goal, and 3rd stringer Holtby followed Giroux in the shootout. Kinda amazing. I that Jagr was the shit on that line tonight. Looked fucking strong, wasnt getting knocked. Unforunatley the line tries to make it too damn pretty, which is not something I like to see. Also, thought Jake looked good. Hit a post. Just felt like he was everywhere.

Finally, thought Grossmann was decent. Made a few good hits, and seemed to be everywhere.

I hear ya I'm only on MT but I go in early and leave early but you have to do it!

I'd also like to add no more fucking drop passes in your own zone that almost cost them multiple times. GET PUCK OUT OF THE ZONE should be stapled to some of their foreheads....

oo oo i'd like to follow that up and say, can we stop the drop passes on the PP and just shoot it in, retrieve it, and set up.. against the panthers i think on all 4 powerplays they tried to skate the puck in and i think it worked once.. that shit drives me crazy.. dump the puck in, chase the puck, get the puck, be set up.. stop with this 'off the rush' crap on the powerplay.. the bread and butter of the team all season has been the hi/lo screen from simmer and hartnell, please go back to that and stop trying to score cute goals on the PP

jagr and giroux are the biggest culprits of that.

Is there anyone on this team besides Hartnell who is willing to stand in front of the net and take some punishment?

If you key on Simmonds, you'll see that too many times once he gets hit,he gets the fuck out.I,m not saying to park there and get repeatedly cross-checked,but you have to take some god damn hits.

They haven't been putting a lot of shots on net from the perimeter lately because no one is there for a deflection or rebound.

I can't wait to see Tox's reaction to this statement.

I do agree though they need more guy near the net setting up screens, packing too many in there makes it impossible to get shots through but if Harts and Simmonds rotated to that low position we'd probably see a lot more scoring chance on the PP.

From the radio broadcast on the way home from Tahoe:

1.
2. Briere
3. Grossmann (sounded like he played the whole game and blocked around 40 shots)

Goats
1. Simmonds - sounded like that slash was pretty nasty at a time when you can't be taking penalties

2. Habs effort - bundy said it was embarassing?

I haven't done this in a hwile:

1. Mr. Universe
2. 48
3. Kubina/Grossman - monsters

Yep dead on the goats were those what were you thinking passes again. I sure do hope Lavy drills it into them to fire it down the ice instead of giving it up in your zone before the playoffs.

Stars:

1. Briere - 2 goals, a number of other solid offensive chances. My biggest issue with Briere for the past 2 months or so is that he isn't getting to scoring locations. He gets the puck behind the net and tries wraparounds and that's about it. Today he got a deflection goal, which means he was not behind the net (mercy of heavens, if you check the replay he was actually IN THE CREASE), and a point blank top shelf goal from the side of the net - not the best chance, but he converted it. He was in position for some rebounds and played very aggressive, and he even forechecked a guy once.

1b. Bryzgalov. Briere breaking his streak means he gets top billing, but Bryzgalov deserves some credit for seemingly taking breakaway drills in the second period.

3. Grossmannn. He has earned a third n. Great defense on the rush and in the corners.

Goats:

1. Our zone entry. FIVE BREAKAWAYS IS FIVE TOO MANY. Get the puck deep and get the puck back. We have a great forecheck, so why are we blindly passing the puck at the blue line?

2. Laviolette, just because I'm still steamed over Simmonds getting a shot in the shootout on Thursday. Simmonds has four settings, Lavi. They are: fight for puck on the boards, screen/deflect/rebound, be physical, and turn the puck over whenever dangles are attempted. None of these involve scoring on breakaways. I know this for a fact because when I type in the phrase "Wayne Simmonds breakaway" on the google, the first 3 results are Claude Giroux breakway videos, the fourth is the result of a twitter search of those words, and the fifth and seventh results are Bobrovsky stopping Simmonds back when he played for the Kings. None of the first page results involve Simmonds actually scoring on a breakway. I wish I were making this up.

3. Pronger - don't come to our fucking arena and taunt us with that thumbs up, asshole. Go back to your place, find whatever demonic grimoire you used to grant you your dark powers, and find a spell to make your head work again. I'll even toss in some incentive - the playoffs start in a few weeks and if you are back you'll probably get a chance to concuss Crosby again, and we all know how you feed on the pain and suffering of others.

Yea it was a bad time, but that was an EXTREMELY frustrating play. Simmonds was forechecking hard but clean, and the the habs players takes a blatant dive right in front of the ref and Simmer gets the call.

Might as well make one count if you are going to go. I hate dumb penalties, but he is forgiven in my books.

Lol. Kinda tough in lavi there man. Simmer scored. And from all accounts he's been the best shootout guy in practice. Aside from read and giroux who else has any claim? Briere is decent, but hasnt been good this season. At least simmer had been good at it in some capacity (practice). Everyone else sucks at it all the time.

The pronger comments are pretty mean too haha. But in huessing there is some sarcasm there and you just want him to play again.

No Stars. Nothing good.

We are making a habit of the slow start, shitty PP, awful D, and Bryz was trash.
