Should be interesting to see how the offense is run with a better passer behind center.

BETTER PASSER??!!?!?

I think Fyfe has had about 15 attempts in his career and about 8 picks

Yep better passer. His in game stats may not reflect it but he is better suited for this "balanced" offense since they seem to like to pass so much. I won't argue anything else, but will just wait to see how he does.

He won't do any worse than Armstrong outstanding 50 something % completion percentage, but obviously won't be a run threat.

I'm not so sure about better passer. Tommy show's glimpses of being very accurate when given enough time. We'll see how things go against Purdue, we should be fine tho.
Hopefully the staff will focus on the run and run sum more.....

No offense, but I'm pretty dam accurate when I have time also

Seriously though I agree we'll be fine as they will more than likely run the ball a lot

I sure hope so. If I'm not mistaken; they're pretty shitty when it comes to run defense.

But then again, Lang does like to SLING IT....... & SLING IT SUM MORE.....

Where you been man?????
Yer not in pickems this year

I've been busy and out of the country. Actually heading back out in another week. I missed the 1st couple weeks of pickems so decided to just sit it out. I had to give up the hot chick posts because I got in a bit of trouble for them.

Haven't been real excited with the season so far. Actually pretty dissapointed, but not surprised. Hoping things begin to turn around soon, but with so many injuries this season it's been a challenge

I don't know what you're doin' outta the country, but stay safe!!!!

I don't things are going to turn around this season. The coaches are lettin' the kids run amuck, coaches yellin' at the wrong linemen and linemen yellin' at the coaches. From what I hear, the leadership is pretty bad. Riley is just the Co-Chairman and the kids have the Chair.

That's unfortunate to hear.

They may have improved on run defense. They held Wisconsin to under 100 yds rushing.

I'm actually excited about another QB getting the chance to play, but I bet they rein him in because they don't want to make TA look bad! lol

Potentially I suppose.

They are ranked 94th in run defense and 69th in pass defense

Fyfe isn't actually that slow and can run a bit (not as well as TA), but at practice he's less accurate than Armstrong.

I recall from last year when Barney came in for TA and it wasn't pretty, the gallery quickly stopped with the bench TA nonsense

Idk, it doesn't stop people from saying how great he did on his one drive vs. MSU where he went 1-2 for 9 yards.

Lol. Valid point, I had not realized his comp % is equal to that of Tommy's

I'm agreeing with you...the backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team when the offense struggles.

No, the backup QB is always the most popular guy on the team when the first string QB struggles. I've pretty much said all along when TA is struggling, and that is often, that it wouldn't hurt to place a backup QB in for a series or so to allow TA to get another perspective on the game.
