No surprise to see this. Wonder if anyone would hire the guy as he is still a decent coach.

You really think it's a question if anyone will hire him?

A coach that is great in the regular season but continues to fail in the post season when it counts.

A coach that doesn't play the talent on his roster, and overplays his starts to the point of destruction to their bodies.

A coach that has predictable offensive sets which are easily out maneuvered by even the most novice coaches...

I do not understand the love affair with Thibs. Done is so over rated. yes he is a great defensive coach...all that means is he should be an assistant. Being a one trick pony does not a great head coach make...

Imo you are overestimating the talent on the Bulls

Yeah he really did get the most out of that team IMO. They have always had some nice pieces but they were always bit by injuries (mostly to Rose).

Averaged 51 wins over a 5 year span. Most coaches couldn't have done that with that squad.

As a Bulls fan I am very happy with this move. It was time to move on. I appreciate what he did for the bulls but he was stuck. He didn't know how to get them to that other level. He over played players and never made any changes. His rotations were bad in playoffs.

He will be good for a team like NO, magic, Det. team like those. a young team he needs to take over. Im not saying those teams need him it was more of example.

what he did with the Bulls with out Rose for 2 1/2 years maybe 1 or 2 other coaches would of done. All other under .500. Thibs was great for this team but it was now time to move on. Cant keep going to the same well and expect different results. He hit his max with this Bulls team. We need new blood.

I think it will be a very tough decision for Hoiberg, for off the court reasons.

He has kids in high school. His extended family is in the Ames area. He has a great relationship with Iowa State's athletic office. He is well liked, even among Hawkeye fans. He lives in a safe, rural community.
