Gary Gilliam at Left Tackle?
Britt...at Center? Guard? All Mizzou Olinemen end up at Center so I can see that but he has had lot of issues
Lewis? Glowenski?
Ifredi...not high on him but definitely upside there and by all means should be starting somewhere.
J'Marcus Webb? Oh dear...

Seattle is maybe the most talented team in the league or in the top 3 and everyone seems to be high on their playoff chances but I don't envy Tom Cable's job at all. That oline looks just as bit as bad as those olines that the Rams used to run when they tried to kill Marc Bulger and Sam Bradford.

Well, and Wilson holds the ball for just over 3 seconds a snap- most in the league. As far as the OL is concerned- an uneviable assignment.

Imo, thats countered by the fact the Wilson can run to the sidelines faster than most linebackers. Wilson's mobility is the main thing that keeps that offense going imo. Not that he is always going to run but the threat of movement in general.

Tom Cable always fixes the lines. Just like Bill Callahan and Kyle Shanahan.

One of the more misinterpreted and misused stats around.

Nope, Wilson is short so he can't see the play develop early enough that often. That's why he lost that Super Bowl by throwing that wretched pick.

Yet somehow he managed to lead the league in passer rating and be the first player to pass for over 4k yards, 30+ TDs and rush for 500+ yds in a season by not being able to see plays develop that often? You're a whackadoo.

Yeah, he's good at what he does. Doesn't change the fact he holds the ball long. Sometimes to his advantage. And other times he gets rid of the ball without seeing it well, like in the Super Bowl when the Seahawks lost because of that wretched pick Wilson threw.

Interesting to hear you twice blame RW for the pick.
Seahawk fans that I have heard from blame our OC or even Pete for the call.
Looks like you are one of those outsiders that know lots more about a team than those that follow it with a passion.

It's likely going to be the same as it's always been since he's been the offensive line coach. Decent run blocking, horrid pass protection, and lots of holding and false start penalties. It's a trend that seems to show up everywhere Cable coaches.

In the past they were able to get away with mediocre O-line play due to Lynch averaging very high yards after contact and Wilson's ability to run the read option. That seemed to throw teams off enough to develop the passing attack.

Seemed like last year the O-line started to gel after Graham and Lynch went down and during this time Bevel opened up the playbook a bit more for Wilson. They can game plan around a poor offensive line, but it's going to take some adjustments. Changing the offense too much is just going to make Cable a liability though. His coaching style only works for a certain type of offense.

Probably because I watched the whole play instead of freaking out when it wasn't a handoff. Terrible throw. Playcalls look bad when that happens. OC thought Wilson could win it and at least thought he wouldn't do something wretched to lose it. He may have been wrong for thinking that.

How to argue that Wilson is too short to play from the pocket:

1. Focus on one single play.

2. Ignore hundreds and hundreds of others.

The way I see it is that the Seahawks are probably entering 2016 with a potential for top 3 defense, top 3 special teams and top 3 offensive weapons. Thats like Golden St Warriors territory of awesome there until you look at that oline. It'll be interesting to see how far the oline pulls them down from otherwise the best roster in the NFL.

2x Rams, Panthers and Jets on the schedule. That should be 3-1 for an elite team but its not hard to see 1-3 or 0-4 if the oline falls apart.

This is the good and bad depending on your view of the Salary Cap. Every team even the top teams in the league have an Achilles Heal that could take them down. This is also where teams have to get a bit lucky in the playoffs because match ups do matter. For Seattle any team with a mediocre pass rush they should be able to crush because of the superior players on the rest of the roster. Those top pass rushing teams though could make life hell and we have seen it in the past with St. Louis/LA being a mediocre team at best but their greatest strength lining up with the Seahawks biggest weakness. Sometimes that is all you need to get a victory.

Exactly, I saw him drop back and fuck up the entire season with one ill-advised and off target throw.

It mattered on that play. He's good at not letting it matter most of the time. Still it contributes to why he holds the ball long. Which is what I responded to. But be over-defensive. It's a good look.:thumb:
