Matt Bush throws a very clean inning. 10 pitches and 9 of them were strikes. 1 strikeout and no baserunners.

He could be a factor at some point this season.

I have no doubt.

Up until the 3 year deal rumors surfaced I had always expected to see Adrian back here playing 3B in 2017. With there being a possibility of him not being here would you see that as an opportunity for Profar, Gallo, or Rua to play 3B next year? What happens to the lineup for 2017 if Rua, Profar, Gallo, Mazara and Brinson all prove to be ready over the course of the 2016 season?

I think that's the way the Rangers look at it too, no sense in handcuffing yourself to a player when you might have cheaper options replacing him, 3 years is too much in my opinion, better to be a year early in cutting ties with a player than a year late

I wonder how many games we might see with Rua in LF and Desmond in CF?

I mentioned Desmond as a potential option in CF if he proved capable in LF a while back, but maybe just as likely might be Deshields in LF if he doesn't improve in CF and Desmond in CF

The few times I've seen Hoying this spring, he has hit the ball well.

Looks like Crawford will get a chance to earn that 20+ million, Ethier out 10-14 weeks

Kela, Tepesch, Tolleson and Martinez are all up in velocity from last year. Nick Martinez is up the most at 3.5 MPH. Lewis and Holland are just slightly down.

Then again, he has never started Opening Day as a Ranger.

6 takeaways from Rangers-Cubs Prospects Game: Breakout candidate excites, Dillon Tate impresses, and more | SportsDay

Josh Morgan, who started at shortstop, will remain an infielder only for the 2016 season Director of Player Development Mike Daly said. Morgan, 0 for 2 Wednesday, had been experimenting with catching. The Rangers have liked what they've seen, but ultimately want to go forward with him as an infielder capable of playing three positions for the time being. The organization will, however, continue to work with INF Isaiah Kiner-Falefa on catching. Kiner-Falefa, who started at third, will remain primarily an infielder capable of playing second, short and third. Daly said he will also catch at least a handful of games.

LHP Brett Martin, a breakout candidate this year, struck out the side in his one inning of work. Martin went 5-6 with a 3.49 ERA at Class A Hickory last year. The question is whether to send the 20-year-old back there, to the inhospitable environment of advanced Class A High Desert or to really push him and send him to Double-A Frisco (unlikely to start the year). A year ago, Rangers officials were really excited about him. This spring: Even more so.
