It would certainly be a reward for Alabama to play UCF instead of one of the real teams.

I still think a G5 is going to need all P5's to have at least 2 losses each to get consideration. The G5 would have to be undefeated in any scenario.

Maybe one undefeated/1 loss P5 then the rest of the pool gunning for the 3 extra spots to have 2 losses.

Not impossible. It has happened in 2007.

Need the Pac to keep pac-ing it in this year and will need big12 to have 2 losses each. So better hope that Jexas beats OU, OSU can beat Jexas, and then in the 12 champ game someone beats OU again. That's the most plausible, as scant as it may be, scenario for UCF. Need two P5's to take themselves out of the "well duh" conversation and those two are the most likely this year.

LSU was having to pull from the offensive depth chart just to be able to field 11 on defense

I’d say put UCF in the playoffs to give them a taste of what it’s like playing an elite P5 team that has something to play for, but giving one playoff team a semi final bye wouldn’t be fair to the oth playoff teams having to play a real opponent

The point was both sides didn't have their player(s) and the game was basically meaningless.
