It would make no sense. In fact re-signing Ridley may not make sense unless he comes back cheap because of the injury.

Vereen is more important to sign because of his flexibility. Gray is a cheap option as the pounder and they can always bring in a rookie or cheap FA to fill the 3rd RB spot instead of signing both Vereen and Ridley to decent deals.

To piggyback my own comment. Basically this is what the Pats did by signing Blount to a 2 year deal. Now they likely don't sign Ridley and put any legit dollars in Vereen.
