2nd sub-zero cold blast of the season out there. Wind chills at 25-30 below are worse than the one a week ago. It's +4 out now, but back below zero tonight before things moderate.
That'll make some ice!

going down I-80 last friday from Sidney Neb to Kearney saw a lot of folk walking on ice and fishing on ice ta bootThat'll make some ice!
We have about 14" on Okoboji. Nothing above freezing footage over the next 10 days so it should be pretty decent for a while yet.Yeah. It's good-to-go out there now. It might only be great for a week though, as the forecast closes the last full week of January's highs in the mid 30's and low 40's. That's actually my favorite time to get out, but things get iffy after a few days.
@Red_Alert Did the Weather channel always own Weather underground or is this a new thing
my company just paid $700 to change my flight to Monday morning, sure hope it snows so it was justified. not to mention the extra for one more night at a hotel and one more day of car rental.
LMFAO !!That's it. I'm stocking up on beer and essentials.
Weather Service downgraded Lincoln and Omaha to a Winter Storm Warning which means we are still screwed. The storm cause havoc in California and Arizona already with high winds. I am going on a food run to stock up here shortly. Channel 3 says 8-12" with heaviest NW of us.
Or like the last big snow there were an abundance of rear wheel vehicles like Mustangs on the road and not doing so well. Both my vehicle are 4x4s but my truck needs an new spider fuel injector so I am waiting for the next break in the weather. The thing about these winter storms is that the heaviest snow band is only 50 miles wide or so and the most difficult to forecast.
2nd on the list is the amount of precipitation.
That being said, it's likely that 95% of vehicles you'll see on Omaha streets tomorrow morning will have plows attached.
