Picks coming up in a little more than a half-hour. It should be fun. Among the big questions:

1. Who will get into Indy as #1 overall (Louisville or Indiana)?

2. Who is the fourth #1 seed?

3. Will the committee care most about the eye test, tempo-free statistics, or tempo-stats?

4. Of course, what teams will make the dance?

Any thoughts?

Most experts don't have Kentucky in. I personally think that they get in because the committee likes to reward tough OOC scheduling and they were the #2 team in the SEC.

That said, the momentum of the pundits is gathering behind Middle Tennessee. The fact that their best win (Ole Miss) just won the SEC Tourney doesn't hurt them. Plus, the committee loves to have no names and major conference teams play each other in the First Four.

Yeah, Fran didn't think Iowa was going to be in this situation. He thought they would still be bad, so he scheduled easy OOC. Now it looks like they are in the NIT.

Louisville gets the #1 overall seed. No shock there. They are the hottest team in America.

How the hell is Oregon a 12?

Also, SLU gets a 4. Likely means the Badgers are heading for a 5.

Duke the lowest #2 seed. That is a little surprising

Middle Tennessee gets in. Had a feeling that was coming. I'm just stunned they put them against another mid-major (St. Mary's).

I dont understand that. A play in game for the 11 seed? How is Oregon a 12 seed and not having to play their way in?

Thats how they have been doing it. They put a couple of play in games as small conference winners in 16/16 matchup but then but the bigger names that just squeak in as a playin game at 11/11 level. Not sure why they did it that way though
