I actually think I get more excited over a triple/SB or throwing a runner out at at the plate than anything else. I wish they still allowed home plate collisions. Just a personal preference though.
I agree with both points but when players make as much money as they do now I understand why owners want to change the rules up to protect their highly paid investment. Had the Buster Posey incident happened to a Colorado Rockies (or insert your non relevant player on the national scale) it wouldn’t have been a big much like had Tom Brady or Aaron Rodgers incidents happened to a Blake Bortles or Alex Smith it wouldn’t have led to rule changes. I think this was crux of starting to baby pitchers began when they started making so much money and it’s better to pay that much money towards a guy who throws 6 innings rather than pay him to be on the DL.
