I agree TJF12. We have some work to do. Here are the relative stats.

FG% FT% 3P% Ast Reb TO
MIN 44% 77% 36% 12 33 17
LAL 40% 58% 29% 9 34 20

We still need to work on shooting, FTs, and TOs. We missed far too many easy shots and FTs. Buycks is definitely crap. This is the summer league so, perhaps a grain of salt is required.

Take an entire shaker of salt. It's summer league. Stats are all but useless. Everyone there needs work because they're either rookies or dudes trying to get preseason camp invites just to make a team.

Well, so much for all the anticipation only to watch them fall apart in the 4th.

Not a lot from Upshaw other than fouls. Was hoping to see more out of him ( although he didn't play a lot ).

I thought he did a good job with blocked shots for the minutes he played...

to me it looks like he has some potential, so imo we need to sign him...

Never seen a Summer League game in full until today. I think the 10 fouls allowed per person is just silly but almost makes sense.

Also had to laugh when Brown in-bounds passed Russell the ball in to back court. These kids have a lot to learn but rather have it in the summer league than a proper NBA game.

You got all of that from less than 12 minutes of Summer League ball?
All the experts said he was a first round reach. I hope they are wrong. I saw him play in college. To me he was a late second round pick.

I know you hate the guy but for fucks sake give him more than one game to get his feet together.
Dude. I am keeping it real. If you don't like it, ignore the post.

I didn't see the whole game - just the highlights

Late in the 4th Randle made a nice move around his defender for the dunk
He looked pretty quick with that move which is a good sign

Yeah, he had a couple of really strong post moves too. As he played a little more, you could see him start to get a little more confidence in his moves. But you could tell he hasn't played a game in nearly a year.

Imo, on the Nance/Brown picks, the Lakers got the guy who should have been their 34th pick with the 27th and the guy who should have been the 27th pick at 34.

They got them right, but in the wrong order.

From the looks of things the last couple of weeks, Mitch appears to have finally been given permission to do his job with impunity. He signed Upshaw to a two year deal at least keeping him with the Lakers for awhile. Perhaps Upshaw is first round talent.

Lakers sign Robert Upshaw to 2-year contract, according to report - Silver Screen and Roll

This is exactly what I was hoping they'd do. It's literally zero risk/high reward. He gets a couple of seasons to develop, since he's undrafted, his contract isn't guaranteed and no one can swoop in and try to sign him. If he doesn't develop or can't stay out of trouble, he gets cut loose.

As they say, he has size and you can't teach size. If I'm the Lakers, I have him and Hibbert move into Kareem's house with him so they can learn literally everything there is about being a big in the NBA.

I totally agree CL67. Great move by Mitch and it appears Jeanie has put a bit of leash on shortie by allowing Jim's own proclamation to apply pressure and achieve way better results for the Lakers. The draft and the FA moves of the past couple of weeks have really been very effective in getting us headed back to the top. Very smart indeed.

I like the brown pick. He was a good outside shooter in college. Good pick. Glade we have Upshaw!!

Great deal regarding Upshaw.

At one point last night I had him completely written off then he blocks Towns twice on back to back plays.

Brown projects to a 3 and D guy. Nance will likely be a defense first type player. Both will fill a need if they develop.

A rare day off for me tomorrow so I might be up to watch tonights game too. Hoping to see less silly mistakes (no back court passes  ) and a bit more effort from Randle earlier on.
