Clarkson looked great, Randle looked rusty, Russell looked solid, Upshaw has potential, but needs work.

I agree TJF12. We have some work to do. Here are the relative stats.

FG% FT% 3P% Ast Reb TO
MIN 44% 77% 36% 12 33 17
LAL 40% 58% 29% 9 34 20

We still need to work on shooting, FTs, and TOs. We missed far too many easy shots and FTs. Buycks is definitely crap. This is the summer league so, perhaps a grain of salt is required.

Well, so much for all the anticipation only to watch them fall apart in the 4th.

Not a lot from Upshaw other than fouls. Was hoping to see more out of him ( although he didn't play a lot ).

Russell will be a defensive liability. He had that rep in college and it is true. He is a very good passer. Has to work on his jump shot.

Nance is not a first round pick. They reached on him.

Buycks looks like he represents everything about last year that sucked, at least initially.

This was relatively fun to watch. Obviously not the result but watching the rooks get some playing time was fun.

This was the first step for rookies to get a taste of what the NBA was like. Of course they're going to make mistakes. Hell, even the #1 pick got schooled by Upshaw a few times.

I liked what I saw in Russell - this is exactly what I expected. Some great passes.

Nobody usually gives a shit about the Summer League and there's a reason for that. Now that the young guys know the pace of NBA ball vs college ball they'll be gradually improving.

:L

I know you hate the guy but for fucks sake give him more than one game to get his feet together.

If the Lakers were trying to win they'd have left Clarkson in there for the entire game. The only thing that matters in Summer League is getting work on the court for these guys.

I didn't see the whole game - just the highlights

Late in the 4th Randle made a nice move around his defender for the dunk
He looked pretty quick with that move which is a good sign

Didn't get a chance to really focus on the game as I was watching on my phone while doing other things....but I like these young guys. Russell was as advertised, but he's gonna have his growing pains this year, and understandably so. Upshaw is most certainly a keeper on the roster this year. I didn't know much about Brown, but having a knockdown shooter is always good. Randle has a bit of a problem. He tries to bull his way into the lane off 1 dribble a bit too much, becoming predictable at times. However, he found his rhythm once he got one to drop. He then started to mix things up...and with all this being said, it's only his 2nd game in 2 years, so I'll give him a pass. Clarkson is looking niice. I wouldn't even play him the whole summer league. We won't win a title this year, but its gonna be fun to watch games this year.

I would love to see Randle develop a 1 step pull up. He attacks the lane so much, and that ridiculously quick first step would set up an open jumper.

Clarkson is indeed playing where he left off at the end of last season only a notch better and Randle does have a very explosive first step.
