but shit, the OWH is technically in a bigger market. the LJS is quite tiny...and im not saying i want to write for the fucking NYT or anything, but there are bigger markets than lincoln that are still small enough to where they arent impossible to get a job for

Yep. I do journalism with my history degree. Works fine. Published a bunch of history articles in grad school. A journalism degree is not necessary. You just need to write well to get a writing job anyway.
