I read something really interesting on 247 today. Blake Lawrence on Brion:

Do you see Brion Carnes being in the mix a bit more than last year.

No. From what I've heard and I love and respect Brion Carnes, I think he's a great kid. He's just not the same level as Taylor and hasn't been able to show in practice that he's mentally or physically ready to play at this level. That's so far. He's only going into this redshirt sophomore year. So, the kid has a ton of time. He's going to develop and maybe he's going to start getting more reps. What is he going to do this spring to make it more of a push to Taylor in the fall?

Yep. And yet everyone will continue to bash the coaches for making "the wrong decision"

Definitely something odd about the whole thing, maybe an indicator why we are pursuing qbs so hard yet after the fact

"Has not having anybody to push him slowed Taylor's development at quarterback?"

BL - "Absolutely. It's had an impact on him. Kody Spano is now gone. Cody Green is gone. There's nobody really sitting behind Taylor to push him to be better than he is. There's a little bit of comfort that comes with that, and the development might not be where it should be. I'm excited for Tommy Armstrong in the fall, but we're talking about the spring."

With the paths we're on.... Washington will be playing in bigger bowl games than we will the next two years.
