Didn't know it was on, no.

I was in Ramstein once, but I was stationed in West Berlin.

I was in a city behind the Iron Curtain with a wall (Berlin Wall) built all the way around it. (it was an island)

Once past the Berlin Wall it was another 100 miles to the next wall (Iron Curtain) ie...East/West Germany.

Then the drive to Ramstein.


Ramstein was quite secure compared to West Berlin.

Damn, different world back then. Probably wouldve taken you longer to drive to rafb from WBerlin than it would for us coming through the chunnel nowadays
