Honest truth.......posting here more regularly causes me to be a drunk more regularly.

There are a lot of bad influences here, me being one of them. An alcoholic feeds off of other alcoholics. When someone even as much as mentions the word "beer" here at the Hoop, I pretty much get up and go to the fridge.

I don't know if I ever shared this but I had major problems as a youth with alcohol. Totaled one vehicle going down a street bouncing off parked cars. Had multiple DUI's in multiple states. Luckily this was before the day of computers and states didn't share information well. I had more DUI's than you can count on one hand.

I quit drinking for near 20 years. I think now my problem was more being young and dumb. Whenever I drank I would start at one bar and decide there was a better bar or party somewhere else. I would drive to that and at first cops would tell me to take it home and not let them see me again that night. Then drinking and driving got to be a hot issue and they started racking up.

Now when I drink I am happy to sit at home. That is why I think youth was more of the problem than alcohol. It never interfered with jobs. I mostly only drank on weekends but weekends were always a binge.

Now I have a few drinks and go to bed. Sometimes a drink too many but nothing to cause problems.

Anyway Oak I don't know how it's effecting you but if it is messing up your life it's not worth it. Like I said I quit for near 20 years and I enjoyed life just as much then as I do now and certainly more than when I drank and it caused problems.

LOL I was pretty bad for a while but then when I got sick drinking wasn't nearly as appealing.

Now I try to just keep it to the weekends and not drink two days in a row.

Friday night and sunday afternoon for the most part.

I read what HISL said and I partially agree some times it's an age problem but for now you need to focus on getting the help you need. I had problems too. BIG problems with drugs and drinking. Get the help you need. Do what you need to do. I needed treatment. There is no shame in that. In fact you will feel so good once you do what you need to do. Feel free to pm me I will talk to you and help if I can. Everyone can use some motherly advise Honestly do what you need to do. Life is too short to live in hell!

That's what I was going to say. If you can that's great. I couldn't. I drank til there was noting to drink and like I said here was always somewhere to go to where I could.

It may not be permanent but if it is what you need than you need to.
