Thee only problem with all of that is that 50 lb test and leaders can be unappealing to Pike when running a spinner......

Now, I ran a leader yesterday, and the line didn't actually break until the reel literally was ran completely out of line.......

The Pike grabbed my spinner and just took off truckin' down stream. Thee current is already moving about 40mph, and with the Pike swimming with that current, I didn't even stand a chance. The drag just sat there and slipped until all the line was gone........and then it snapped right off the reel where I tied it on. My face was like this the entire time

It was a really big fish.....really wish I could have seent it

That was FireLine that I had on that reel too................which is some thick braided shit.....

Was the first time I've ever lost my FireLine due to the size of a fish before. Never in my life have I had FireLine break in half......that shit is strong.

Dude..... I like fire line....... I have been running fire line crystal- liked it..


But Power pro is fucking amazing..

I have 10 lb fire line crystal on one reel and 50 lb power pro on the other...

The power pro casts better, is thinner... and wayyyyyy stronger.

Fire line is not even in power pros league sir... in fact- I'll say the fire line I have is shit compared to power pro- SHIT






I know pike are steel leader shy... but I'm talking about DP(dissapearing pink) fluorocarbon leader... like Yo-zuri Hd carbon..

I was killing 5-10 lb cats at a small interstate lake off a bobber rig- my other pole I was letting bait sink down to top of moss bed and wasn't catching shit- throw a bobber holding thee bait about two feet off the moss..... hammerin them bitches
