Never been a Jeter fan in any way.

But that was a cool as shit way to finish off his time in The Bronx.

That was cool!
Even Splinter's last hit/HR didn't win the game, or tie it...brought the Bosox to within a run in a game they eventually won.
Strangely enough, the Bosox had a series in Yankee after that game that Williams skipped...sounds like Jeter at least won't play SS in Boston this weekend, maybe he'll pinch hit or something. I think he should just show up, get his gifts, say a few nice things, and then be a spectator (or go home).

so r u a little soar since your a red sox fan and a yankee hater? he is one of the best to ever play this game. We may never see a guy play SS and the game in general the way he did

sore? How is copying the link about Jeter having to pay taxes on his gifts saying I am a hater? This is a thread about Jeter, correct? He got gifts that amount to enough that he would have to pay taxes on, so I posted it.

Jetes has more than enough coin to pay those taxes wedged in between the cushions of the sofas in his many mansions!!!

I just realized that it's possible that I could have been driving through Kalamazoo right when Jetes was playing in a high school baseball game...used to ping pong between Detroit and Chicago a lot back in 1991-2. Even stopped at a crummy little Kalamazoo strip club with a buddy once when we were heading back to Detroit, but almost all the gals had big rumps and not much up top so we didn't stay long. One of the dancers told me that the place had gotten much nicer since they put some lights in the parking lot, it had been very common to get jumped going to/from your car in the dark before that...

Oh no doubt Indrid that Jeter has the money to pay off the taxes on those items and I wasn't saying he couldn't or wouldn't. I was just posting the link about it. I respect the guy and I wasn't trying to bash him or anything like that.

I gotcha, not sure why anybody would bust on you for an innocuous post...I was just having fun.

Oh I know you weren't. I wasn't directing that towards you, it was to the poster who said I was a hater since I made the initial post about his taxes.

Did anyone else see that Derek Jeter played his last game at Yankee Stadium?

You would think someone would have mentioned it at least once!

Thank God this love-fest from New York media and ESPN is over. Now we can go about our daily business.

I doubt that he would do it because he's good about disciplining his image, but I think it would be HILARIOUS if Jeter just didn't show in Boston and screwed over all the people who paid huge money to boo him one last time in Fenway!!

Friend of mine is going tomorrow, but he got the tix last winter and sure isn't sentimental about Jetes retiring...he told me that he wants to hold up a "WHAT ARE YOUR HOPES? WHAT ARE YOUR DREAMS?" sign (I had the same idea but won't be there).

Talk radio here in the Boston area was wondering if Jeter did in fact cost the Yankees a play-off spot.
