I certainly think it would go better for him if he wasn't showing off his fandom to the arch rival of his constituents, haha.
It would be like the governor of Ohio donning his maize & blue every saturday. People wouldn't be too happy with him...probably would get impeached for that offense!
That's what Dez was doing on the field. Simply explaining that to the refs.
Whenever I try to imagine what goes on in your head my mind just goes completely blank. It's rather frightening. You and GnG should get a room.
It was clearly a classic face guarding penalty, defensive pass interference. If you want to argue that that was a face mask before the ball got there, well, then it should have been offsetting penalties as noted. That's not what was called. Instead the refs picked up the flag with no explanation--and looked the other way about the fact that Dez Bryant, an offensive player, had stepped way out on the field to argue with them. Extremely sketchy situation.
Of course they can be fans. But why is Chris Christie in Jerry Jones' luxury box? Because he was elected to be governor of New Jersey and became a national figure.
To be clear, this isn't a big deal to me since I'm Seahawk fan. But EVERY Giant fan I talk to, Democrat or Republican, is angry at him. I daresay Jersey Eagle fans feel about the same.
The final call was no call. The Cowboys beat the Lions fair and square. Cry all you want. That's the end of story
Dez Bryant is really stupid.
Christie is an idiot. I am not a fan of any of the local teams but most of my friends are Giant fans. It's one thing to be a Cowboy fan. It's another thing to be sitting in Jerry Jones' luxury box and flaunting it.
I'm sure that he knew it wouldn't be popular with some of his constituents. He might figure that most voters leave their NFL fanhood at the door when voting.
Rewatch the video in the link I posted and its clear to see Hitchens grabbed a handful of jersey before the pass was thrown. That's defensive holding.
There was contact both by the receiver and defender while the ball was in the air, really nothing more than jockeying for position, but the defender had his back turned and was not playing the ball. By definition that is also pass interference.
It was a close call, but the refs initially made the correct call. Why they decided against it and picked up the flag is beyond me.
It is humorous to see the Cowboy faithful on here coming out to defend the call reversal tho.
