Anybody who hated Frost back when he chose Stanford is a lunatic. Anybody who still hates him for it is a complete lunatic.

Frost saw that he was gonna he riding the bench with Tommie running the show.....he felt his chances of getting to the next level were better at the time by going to Stanford.

Still blows my mind that an 18 year old graduates from High School and a bunch of grown ups awaited his decision on where he wanted to go to College to decide whether or not he was a piece of shit.

An 18 year old probably doesn’t always want to go play where he knows he has to wait 2 years before he has a chance to play.

I don't see it. I've never personally seen it since 1997 either. They'll get over it with another whif coach and Frost is still having success elsewhere.
Anybody with that mindset should be forced to bow to him at the state line if the above scenario were to take place.

Whiff and SF having success elsewhere is happening now. Lots of dudes with NE ties would kill to be in line for HC right now for free and for him to turn his nose up at NU and eleventy million per year to coach at one of our rivals wouldn’t be easily forgiven

Seriously. In the last 20 yrs (35-55 y/o) I've never encountered anyone who harbors ill will about that situation. There were jokes after the 0-19 three sack loss @ Ariz St in '96, but that was because he lost, not because of the Stanford deal.

Which "rival" is pursuing Frost? Does Nebraska even have a "rival"? Frost is either staying at UCF or coming to Nebraska. That's my take. He's all but said that.
UCF is not a rival.
Can you give me an example of who one of these people are who wouldn't be "able to forgive him" for staying at UCF for another season?

Then a full blown presser Sunday. shit..have it at the 50 yard line in memorial stadium and i bet 50k people would show up to watch it.


any chance UCF does him a solid and asks him to step aside from the bowl game

I'd be very surprised of that simply because I think UCF will want to soak every last $ they can while Frost is still there.

That and most sports media have never liked and still don't like Nebraska. Florida afires a coach and the media especially ESPN was all over it. Nebraska fires Riley barely a blurb on page 3

By rivals I mean from the 90s, any school in p5 FL. Just staying put at UCF would be worlds apart from taking a job at say FSU. Might as well go to coach at Wisconsin or iowa for that matter. The universe is aligned right now like it will never be again for him to take the reigns.
Benning or Forman either to name a few don’t seem to be exactly delighted right now for whatever reason they’re not saying why. In retro to that I know friends and teammates of SF from his college days that are full bone about it

It's a shame they couldn't coach heart to the Huskers Offensive line these past few Falls. I watched the Wisky v Minny game and man did Wisky's line fire off the ball and smack pads. Wisconsin will give Ohio State all they can handle.

It's a shame they couldn't coach heart. I truly thought Riley and company had the ability to take "average" recruits and coach them up. Not so Heart had really nothing to do with it. Being able to coach athletes in this environment was the problem. Major fail

In part, they’ve been cryptic about why exactly, just that it’s to do with SF. Lots of things happened between 95-97 that could have played a part other than the Stanford angle

I think Benning is scared that Frost is going to come back, have success and become even more of a legend than he already was and Benning will fall even further into the category of mostly irrelevant Husker players.

So he’s pissed cuz he knows Frost is coming back.

I just saw this blog post that Scott Frost made following Nebraska’s 2005 blowout loss to Kansas. I’m now 100% sure he’s coming here. It’s not even a question. I feel like an idiot for even doubting it at all.

It’s pretty well known that a number of the 94-95 players didn’t like Frost. Started with the Stanford deal but I’d imagine the LP situation didn’t help much.

He'd be better off going to his other personal choice in Oregon.
