You're now tied with the Sinstripes and can move past them in the Wild Card hunt.

This Red Sox fan would love seeing you do that.

There haven't been as many Sinstripe-free post-seasons as I would like, so,

BEAT NEW YORK, INDIANS! :yahoo:

If we can win this afternoon with John "Lacking" Lackey going against the
very promising Doug Fister we might manage it. Felix Doubront won't pitch this series,
which is a relief to me, because his bad innings are REALLY bad!

His pitch count is usually hitting the century mark by the 5th inning.

I don't remember who came up with that "Lacking" nickname, only that it
first showed up about 3/4 of the way through last season when there were still
forums at ESPN: The Worldwide Leader In Sports.

You really should sign up on cBS (cbssports dot com). Like bSPN theres no msg boards any more, but theres real active game chat - esp with the BoSox (my 2nd fav team, btw). Great group - we've know each other for years & always have a lot of laughs

Sign up, go to MLB & click on 'Scores', then click on 'GameTracker'. If Im not around tell em CaptO sent you

Some SNs to look for: rjmac, bstn8tive, hanslanda, botownboy, ladyninja, molsaniceman - & of course me (captobvious, just on there)

Good news? Maybe? :suds:

DETROIT: The Indians are calling up so many players in September, they might need a Boeing 747 to cart them around to the next road trip.

No fewer than 10 players will be summoned from the minors beginning today, when clubs can expand their rosters to 40.

Indians manager Terry Francona needed a cheat sheet to make sure he didn’t leave anyone out when he announced the list to the media.

Relievers Preston Guilmet, Nick Hagadone, Blake Wood plus catcher Kelly Shoppach and infielder Jose Ramirez will arrive today.

Monday, reliever Clay Rapada will report to Cleveland, and Tuesday, relievers Vinnie Pestano, C.C. Lee, starter/reliever Carlos Carrasco and starter Josh Tomlin will join the team.

All of these players are being called up from Columbus except Ramirez, who spent the season at Akron, playing mostly second base and shortstop, but who also spent a few games at third.

Ramirez won’t be 21 until Sept. 17, making him the fourth youngest player in the big leagues this year. He batted .272 with 16 doubles, six triples, three homers, 78 runs and 38 steals in 54 attempts. However, Francona isn’t worried that he will be overwhelmed by his big-league surroundings. “Our player development people said he can handle it,” the manager said. “It won’t hurt his development.”

In addition to being able to play three positions, Ramirez can run.

That Carson kids looking pretty good. Shame the only regulars doing anything are Raburn, Gomes & occasionally Kipnis...

McAllister sucks... Cant believe he gave up 4

Theoretically we're still in the race but Masty out, an unreliable BP, the rest of the SPs marginal at best & only a few guys getting it done at the plate - Im not gonna hold out hope. But all in all we've had a helluva lot better season than we've had in quite a few yrs

I wonder how MLB decided that it'd be a good idea for interleague play in September. The Mets come to town for a 3 games series? WTF?!

Oh well, the Mets kinda suck so lets hope the Tribe sweeps and actually contends for a playoff spot.
