anybody in here make green smoothies as a snack or even a meal by any chance?

i love just about every fruit, but don't like many veggies outside of raw carrots, peas, celery, bell peppers, and a few others, usually with hummus.

with green smoothies, i've found i can throw in my despised veggies...like kale, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli, etc, and if i add a bunch of berries (mostly blueberries, but with others added), i don't even taste the greens. pretty filling, really.

if it's after a workout or something, i add protein powder, and it's a meal.

ZOMG - I cut up a bunch of basil to put into tonight's dressing, and the kitchen smells like heaven. Lemon-basil spaghetti with chicken. Mmm.

Crazy what herbs do...we picked up some Lime basil at the farmers market. And if those leave don't taste exactly like a lime with a hint of basil. I was used to the usual regualar basil.

We also got some barbeque rosemary, that that dang thing taste like BBQ sause on a rosemary leaf...

Which one of you yahoos recommended Dale's marinade? I picked some up yesterday and tried it on some center cut pork chops, last night, before grilling them. That shit is good. I owe you a steak and a beer. Well done!

:suds:

Put some on my burgers last night with some Tony's. They turned out delicious. Still need a new grill though

Aldis had 14oz filet of beefs on sale for 6 bucks, i thought what the heck......its beef, pre-marinated, mesquite flavor........well i have a little tabletop searing grill for the time beaing...i tossed it on there.....this beast was thick.....and i couldnt get it it cooking in the middle at all.....and was starting to char, so i tossed it in a pan.....still couldtn, steak was too thick, so i quickyl turned the pan up, cut it into medallions, and let it go for 1-2minutes......not the best cooking job, but 14 oz filet, for 6 bucks, its pretty darn good im happy as a pig in poo
