Not a great start for the B1G so far this season. Currently 5-10 against the other Power conferences(including Big East).

The wins: Marquette, Butler, Providence, DePaul, Pittsburgh
The losses: Texas A&M, LSU, Duke, St. John's, Creighton, Texas A&M, Seton Hall, Xavier, Baylor, UCLA.

So much for the Badgers. They can't beat barely ranked teams at the end of games. This team can't close out at all. Bronson come back.

The B1G is currently performing worse than the American and Missouri Valley conferences.

Its a big time down year. Ohio State might Even ne able to have a decent showing record wise even with a gutted roster.

Yeah it is. The league has already suffered a lot of bad losses. Louisiana, South Dakota State, Indiana State, Western Kentucky, and St. Bonaventure. And there are only, what I would consider 3 quality wins by the conference thus far with Minnesota beating Providence and Bama and Michigan State beating UNC. I think Zona will turn it around and be a tournament team, so that's probably a 4th. The other P5 wins; Stanford, DePaul(x2), and Pitt appear to be the worst teams in their respective leagues, and teams like Butler and Marquette look they are NIT teams this season.

Have no fear fellas. Nebraska will pull the rest of the league up soon when they knock off BC tomorrow and either Creighton or Kansas in the next couple weeks.

Wow, that's tough. If Nebraska manages a 1-2 record against those 3 teams, I'd consider that a success.

And I just noticed your two B1G games against Michigan State and Minnesota are sandwiched in between that schedule. Damn. Tough.

Yeah, that's pretty damn brutal. Awesome though that you get a true blue blood like Kansas at home. Very jealous being a Gophers fan that we haven't been able to get one of those games.

Pinnacle Bank Arena will be at least a quarter full of KU fans for that game I'm guessing if not more. There are a ton of Nebraska football fans who are big KU basketball fans. Basketball fans wanting a team to root for hopped on KU's bandwagon rather than rooting for historically mediocre/bad Nebraska basketball.

Now we have Nebraska football fans who are Creighton basketball fans. We call them "JaySkers" and they are scum.

This team is very frustrating. They should have beat both Clemson and Butler but fell apart in the 2nd half in both games. Self inflicted mistakes and awful stretches of bad play outweigh the stretches of good play.

It's a limited roster and I'm pretty sure the older players are so engraved in the Matta bs from the past few years that they can't be fixed, giving these games away hurts to watch still though.

I thought that losing to Western Illinois a couple years ago would be the low point for this program. I was wrong. 61-28 deficit to a terrible Ohio State team in the Kohl Center.

I think Gard is a great Xs and Os coach, but at some point Wisconsin fans have to get very worried about his staff's player development. This junior class besides Happ has clearly regressed and nobody on this team can make a wide open jump shot besides Davison.

I'm stunned Wisconsin is losing by this much with the best freshman class in the program's history, a potentially one and done player in King, and the next Dirk in Van Vilet. :dhd:

On a side note the Buckeyes should have 1 loss at this point if they hadn't choked away the Butler and Clemson games. It looks like they could be 10-3 heading into the game against UNC.

Wesson is an impressive Freshman, great low post game already, and showed some nice ability from deep hitting that 3. Nice corner stone for Holtmann to build around.

So, uh, what's happening with Northwestern? Pretty much brought everyone back from an NCAA Tournament squad, and they're now 5-4.

3 of those 4 losses are to solid opponents, but they've also had close games to some pretty mediocre opponents.

Like the rest of the teams 4-14 they appear to be mediocre this season. They finished like 38th in KenPom last season, so maybe everyone having them in the top 25 was misguided, me included. I'm guessing they peaked in terms of potential last season, so because of that the results haven't been what a top 25 team should have been. Just because of sheer numbers I would expect the B1G to get 4/5 teams in the tournament, not saying it's them, but somebody has to finish 4th in the league and it wouldn't surprise me if they were it. Right now MD projects to finish 4th according to Sagarin, and finish with an RPI in the mid 40's, so they would certainly be a bubble team.

Yeah, but teams that go 24-12 (10-8) with an Round of 32 appearance, that return everyone, tend to get better, not worse. I think them being a borderline Top 25 team to start the year was the correct call. Losing by 36 points to TTU and losing to Georgia Tech are pretty eye opening losses. They've also had competitive games with teams they should be blowing out. Its weird.
